News:

Use of ePSXe before 2.0 is highly discouraged. Mednafen, RetroArch, and Duckstation are recommended for playing/testing, pSX is recommended for debugging.

Doesn't Balmafula also appear there?

If only I knew what the hell was going on....

Was that Ramza's head at the end? Because with my imagination, I thought Meliadoul beheaded Ramza and hid it in that bag, or something.

Although I can't make sense of it, this is truly a great technical accomplishment!

The old face looked too much like a monk, but the new one has a different look which makes it MUCH better.

You're pretty damn good, Vanya.  :D

Gee, I've been here since the idea was born. Back in the day, a good chunk of the things that, for example, 1.3 has done has been possible. However, we didn't have the tools to make easily accessible patches. Instead, we were forced to use Gameshark and enter code after code after code to get temporary results. Obviously, the GS had to be reloaded every time. I don't think there was any knowledge on ENTD editing, or full sprite importing (I don't think anyone was aware of the battle animations thing that was later settled).

Then one day, a guy under the name "ZodiacFFTM" appeared. He was kind of a grating and annoying guy, but you could deal with him. Soon enough, he decided to make the Excel Spreadsheet. Suddenly I found him not-so-annoying. He made the only tool I could ever ask for. And, you know, typical "Philsov does this and karsten makes the site" event that happens afterward.

So yeah, I rolled in from GFAQs when Karsten built the site. I don't contribute much... in fact I lurk this board pretty much all the time. But hey, I'm member number 4!

Ah, a bit late. My birthday was yesterday. The site wasn't working, though. Was there anything going on?

Why not Fencer? He's described as one in his Chapter 2 Brave Story entry, and it does fit the bill rather nicely.

There are two Dark Knights, right? Why don't you just make one a humanoid/monster? (locked into the class, can't change equips.)

Hm, what about the supportive Draw Outs? Or would you just leave those out?

Good to be back.  :)

The FFT hacking scene is truly turning into something bigger than I had imagined. The biggest ROM hacking scene I can remember is the Sonic ROM Hacking scene, and it was enjoyable. However, I see infinite possibilities for FFT now. I recently saw the battle sprites that were decompressed, and the Red Mage edits, which look wonderful. I stumbled upon this, too, and my jaw dropped for a quick 3 seconds. I can't say I'm big on programming or artwork, but I'm extremely impressed by and thankful for the big heads here that just keep surprising me.

I wonder what could be next?

My God... This is probably one of the biggest developments I've seen. Absolutely amazing. I'll give it a try, as well.

What about the Schinoeg/Sinogue thing when you save Reis? The demon's named Schinoeg in the pre-battle scene but is named Sinogue throughout the battle.

If you're going with the ra/ga/ja setup, all of Ja Magic should be -ja. I think it was like that in the Japanese version

I think the Diamond Armor was supposed to have a PA boost.

What the hell is animation 464? It's just kinda thrown in between all the demon transformation animations.

Of course you probably already know this, but 451 is the Revive animation used for Malak.

And now, I'm going to keep myself entertained by identifying some of these.

468 - Gemini Stone Flash
469 - Leo Stone Flash
470 - Virgo Stone Flash? Looks like it.
471 - Scorpio Stone Flash
472 - Capricorn Stone Flash
371 - Shake Off, or so it looks like.
372 - Wave Around
373 - Mimic Titan? I've never seen Mimic Titan, so I'm only assuming here.
374 - Gather Power
375 - Blow Fire? Once again, just assuming here.
228 - Melt
204-208 - All of Destroy Sword
195-203 - All of Fear. The red rings are repeated and used for the single panel Fear skills (Seal, Chicken Race, etc.)
174 - Looks like a pallete swapped Holy, made gold. Golden Holy? Does anyone see potential?
342 - Thunder Soul
343 - Aqua Soul
344 - Ice Soul
345 - Wind Soul, assuming again.

What also caught my interest were animations 474-478. All of them show some lightning with some sort of symbol. I don't remember seeing those anywhere. I wonder...

http://dotchan.com/fft/effects.html

Some time ago, this guy (don't remember his name) decided to rip all the skill and battle effects. It isn't really limited to just that, though. Multiple event effects, such as Lucavi transformations, are there as well. I knew I was interested, and someone else might be, as well.

EDIT: Crap and a half! The guy took them down, and Archive.org doesn't seem to have the images anymore! >=(

I suppose we get the info we needed in the time that has passed, but... dammit, those rips were nice! I wonder how he ripped all of them?

Do ranks even matter? You can tell if someone has contributed or not if you could identify who they are, not by their post-count. If anything, it's possible to just remove them as a whole.
