Hello everyone! It is I ST4R!

As you might have noticed I had my original MC post moved. I decided it was full of too old of things, and I wanted a fresh start on the server.

We have had many problems with Moderators, and Griefers through out our previous server versions. Now after all that has happened I think I am in a god place to say that we are starting over, with new rules, mods and players.

Everything ST4R makes is optimized for OcD texture pack. I put 2 versions of the texturepack up in this post. Both have modded pumpkin skins, so pumpkins on your head don't obstruct vision.

at the moment I am trying to recreate many large structures that were very liked and good looking on the server. This ranges from the shops me and Dino made to the house Zaen made, and so on. I will try to recreate everything that I can remember.

Sorry For the inconvenience today. I moved the MC server to my PC, and installed ubuntu server on the MC server computer. This took all day, and I ended up having to ask for help...
Nonetheless, the server is back up, and it should notably faster, reason: The computer the server is on, has no gui installed :P

there appears to be a problem with the server (may be linked somehow to the new update) it wont let me log into it and eventually just times out, is it because you havent updated the server? just wondering

Welp, the 1.2 update for minecraft dropped, and I updated, not realizing that I wouldn't be able to get on the server. Fantastic. At least iron golems are cool.

Interesting things happen in this server

I have whitelisted the server in hopes to keep griefs out, and in hopes to increase the FFH community. Now people have to register here, and post in the topic to get listed into the server!

I have everyone who was on the server ever, that I can remember, whitelisted already.

k with 1.2.3 update we have lost our stats again right? (mcmmo being non compatible with 1.2.3 yet i think) we lost our commands again so when i was being attacked by a zombie and /home wasnt working I lost all my stuff and /back didnt work....
Can i get my stuff back? I had 8 golden apples a stack of about 23 iron blocks, about a full stack and 34 coal, a diamond pick, an iron pick, 2 stone picks, a stack of stairs fence and wood (not sure how many for each) and some monster etc drops i dont really care about...
If you could that would be great if not... well... thats fine i guess... but i hope youll help  :(

Hey star, the server appears to be down. Just thought you should know.

Mister Lwinter has "left" his computer at my house. I'm currently installing ubuntu server and will move it to Lwinter's computer.
The Server will be a lot faster, imagine when I stuck in on my Personal computer, except without the slight lag due to my torrents. This will be extremely faster than the older server, and I would have to try to kill the server, instead of accidentally doing such.
The server shall be up really soon.

Ah, good. Just wanted to clear that up. Can't wait to see.

Well then....
As if I needed this to happen....
So I was moving the server data over from server a to server b via usb
After I copied the data over I formated the drive from server a and made it an HDD since I had an adapter for it.
Now I then installed ubuntu server on server b and when that was done I plugged in the usb, and behold no files.... Apparently the tool I was using to copy the data over could not read the file type the usb stick was formated to, my personal favourite, NTFS. Anyway luckily I saved a copy of it on my pc, and luckily I copied it over to an HDD before I installed ubuntu 11.10 on it. So server b is now running a slightly older copy of the server.... How old? Well about as old as when I put the server on my Personal Computer. So Benvic95, you know all Saturday we worked on our secret base, yeah well its not there now.... I have yet another task to do.

If any of you find that something you made is not there, please tell me, I will either remake it for you, or give you the items to do so.

I am very sorry this happened. I can't believe it did myself. Now I'm going to bed, and will work on the server later.

It seems we are still on 1.1 because I can only download the recommended builds of Bukkit at the moment. What we want are the non recommended builds so that I can have you all run on 1.2.3

My mind? We shall stick to 1.1 until I can get a working API build of Bukkit 1.2.3

I do know that such is a problem at the moment. if you were to type /pl it will show you the active mods.
Essentials is mod we use for your extra commands. You will notices by typing /pl essentials shows as red text meaning it is not compatible with the server or is simply not working.

I do not care to fix this at the moment, since I am waiting for the new bukkit to come, which should happen very soon.

and then star said, "let there be server", and it was good. I've been playing with some mods while I waited for the server to update. Equivalent exchange and Inficraft to be exact. They're fun.

If you got one of them, I'd prefer inficraft. it's a big one though, as the name might suggest.
basically, you can craft tools and weapons out of anything, even cactus and slime.

The hell did you guys do? o_o

Set our FoV to Quake Pro mode, drank a Speed II pot, sprinted into the air and flew around.
This caused us to get the maximum speed possible on Vanilla Minecraft, but with the Quake Pro Mode touch, it made everything look fisheyed, and since we were moving at - HYPER SPEED-the screen looked weird.

Ben's picture is of him heading mostly straight.
Mine is of me going diagonal, which resulted in nice features.

So Captain_Lamp, benvic95, and I worked hard (Mostly I since I have spent countless hours prior doing such) on fixing the desert thats to the right of the spawn exit. Now I know fully who the main damagers are and who continues to do so, although I likely wouldn't have complained much because I too was a defacer of this desert, but this has happened many many many times, and I'm sick of it.

In response I have revoked normal users the use of Gamemode, but because of this I am creating a world for Creative, and a world for Survival. The survival world will be the one we currently are in, and the creative will be a map of the same seed, just that you are creative when in it.

This should all happen tomorrow after I am done filling in Lwinter's two large ass lines he drilled through a large part of the land to level his Excavation, and the large craters left to repair in the desert, then I'll work on the new world. I will leave almost everything untouched in the survival world, but I do ask that if your creation has creative only block in it that you take those out of it. This includes sponge, portals, and so on.

Also a note on the excavation problem, if that continues to happen, I will take out McMMO (http://mcmmo.wikia.com/wiki/McMMO_Wiki).



Anyway on a happier note!
I'm looking into getting a few more mods for us to make things more fun, and I'm going to work on getting that arena up and running again.
Also I might finally take Lwinter's suggestion and get the iConomy mod (http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/econ-iconomy-6-0-7-celty-1337.40/).
Lastly after that is all done, I'm going to get back to trying to get spoutcraft (http://dev.bukkit.org/client-mods/spoutcraft/) to work.

Why?

I closed the server.
Finals started happening this week, and it was too much for me to maintain 2 servers at once. So I closed the one that requires more attention, which is the free one.
I'll see if I can put it back up today, if not today, then for sure Thursday or Friday of next week, when finals end.

Update!

I went through and spent a good day working on plugins. I got rid of buggy plugins, useless ones, and so on.
The removed plugins are:

• Bouncing Beds


• Epic Glass


• Jobs


• iConomy

I also added 2 new plugins:

• Spout


• bPermissions

I got the portals at spawn to work.
I set up different commands for the different worlds you are in, and also disabled certain plugins for certain places, ie. McMMO can only be used in the Survival world, and you can change you gamemode freely in Creative, and chaos is just Vanilla Minecraft.

For those other that are waiting on the Free server to come back up, your wait will only be required for about 3 more days. Thank your for your patience and enjoy the server!

I'll add you. But the server is not up due to a crap load of projects I am working on at the moment, I feel as though I can't monitor it well as I am doing the projects, and I don't trust my OPs to watch it for me.

Isn't the job of OPs to watch the server?  You should get more trustworthy ones, if you can't trust your current ones, Star.

New Update?
Actually more of a downgrade.

So the server started crashing because of RAM problems. It was running out of memory. So I had to take out a lot of plugins and the worlds....
I will slowly add plugins back and play with the server, until I find what we can have. I would rather you all have a stable server, than a really fun one that crashes a lot.

Alright everyone, I have noticed not many people have been on the server lately. And from what I have heard, people seem to be unsure on what is going on. This post is to tell everyone what is in fact going on and what is not.

I am currently saving up money, and am very close to getting us a full server. As many of you know or may not know I am currently running this server on a laptop. Which its perfectly fine for our small group, but I'm planning on expanding us. I think we need to be bigger, and I personally would like to open us up for more members to come in and join us. Because of that plan, the server is current a "test" server. I am very much wanting everyone's feed back on what they want to see this server turn into and what they do not want in it. I'm an very much open to all feedback and personally I do not mind what the server will turn into as long as you, the members of the server that have been with us for so long, enjoy it. That could mean multiple things. If you want to it be more of an RPG feel, or more of the multi world thing we had going on last revision, or survival, or something we have yet to try yet.

I'm posting up info on the server on how people can find where the updates are being posted (here and baluserver.tumblr.com) , and how to contact me. I will easily leave myself open to many types of communication as to allow you all to easily contact me.

If you have any ideas for mods, problems, what you don't want, if you just want to rant to me, or whatever you want; I do not mind anything.

The Official, and last revision (We will not reset the server again) is out!

Now unlike all of our other servers, it appears that everyone is quite spread, rather than the usual clumped togetherness. So look on the dynmap to see where people live! minecraft.ffHacktics.com:8123

Now the spawn was created with the help of Benvic (North, West and South Roads), Lwinter (East Road), and I (North, West, and South Road). The idea of the spawn is that there is a compass star above and under where you spawn, and from each of the cardinal points (N,E,S,W) are roads that head that direction for 256 blocks. The blue arrow (diamond) is the northern point. In the future there will be large buildings at the end of the road. At the moment I am just waiting for the people that were going to build such buildings to claim which road they want. Lwinter seems to have claimed the road to the west for his CTF Arena. The other buildings that are planned to be built are, a Mob Arena, a PvP Arena, and lastly a Store. Which brings me to my next topic.

There is now currency in the server once more, except this time it actually works! And we will be using it from now on. To check how much you have in your wallet type, /balance. To pay someone type, /pay. Now, I installed Chest Shop. How this works is you make a chest and if you are selling items to players you put the items in the chest then make a sign that says the cost. Players then punch the sign and buy them from you. To sell, you do the same but you do not place blocks in the chest.
