I'm trying to recall my old picture, lol.  Link's dead but in circa 2010 I was uglier!

Now down like 50-something pounds and I grew a beard.  Here's a recent photo

I will give you this much: at least it isn't 1.3 or FFT+ and thusly I'll probably give it a shot at some point eventually.

Are my initial impressions so far, yeah.  It's novel and refreshing.  I don't recall FFT+ enough to know where it sits on the spectrum between vanilla and 1.3, but Proper is in a sweet spot between the two.  Upgrade in every capacity over Vanilla so far, and doesn't require the precision or overpowering brute force 1.3 calls for.  With Br/Fa modding and speed abuse still being possible, some restraint may be necessary but if that's inline with the design philosophy so be it.

And it's not absurd like LFT (imo!  I tried it but couldn't muster.  Its design philosophy was to make an improved game but still be SCC viable which... I don't think was executed well)

Also -- hi all <3.  Long time no see.

Help! / Re: ff5 style swordmage class

The easy route is making elemental-based swordskills and applying the Weapon Strike fix ASM.  You can have different formulae or stick to a few and just juggle the power boost/MP/additional status effects and such.

QuoteSaid manipulative bastard later losing his life to the woman he may, or may not, have loved.

No, that was established when the game was released.  "King Delita lived on to have a long and peaceful reign."  He very likely did love her, and he killed her, leaving him a very strong King Nothing sort of role.  Which... is only fitting for the bastard.

Childish Gambino - Danny Glover (the guy from Community) raps.  I love the monologue from 3:00 onward.  The string in the background is just... intoxicating.  I love how its pace changes.

Cut Up Boys - Star Guitar vs. Tripping.  Combines a DDR-like classic with some pop/rap for musical exquisiteness.

Voicedude - Moves like Deadmau5.  Mashes up Deadmau5's Ghosts N Stuff with Maroon5's Moves Like Jagger.  Double your earworm.

Powerglove - Nightforce.  New wave synth -- sounds like a dark, old school Daft Punk.

Help! / Replacing maps with attack.out
March 03, 2012, 11:17:24 am
I'm trying to make the battle at Thieves Fort actually occur in the lost sacred precients.

So... take my extracted attack.out file in the same folder as the editor, change the map to LSP in a shotgunned array from 02D-034, save, and then reimport this onto my iso.  Load save that's camped at Mandalia, walk in.... and I'm still at thieves fort.

Where's the error?

Tracer bullet is on the case!

Also included is my leet setup.

If phoenix is to revive, then carbunkle.  If phoenix will do some leet ass fire nuking, I'd replace Ifrit.  I'd keep the current breakdown of positive/negative already present for the summons.

QuoteThere's no logical reason to have more than 1 squad

Stamina =\

I tried going in with an uber squad, but with all the counter attacks I had to deal with, my stam eventually got drained.  Once stam drops below 50% you start to suffer stat loss.  At final tally I had 5-ish main squads, with other squad slots with overview-focused leaders (mage or priest types) or highly specialized stuff like 7x Archer that were good for a round or two.

Soul Nomad and the World Eaters - PS2

A Nippon-Ichi attempt at a tactical RPG.  It plays out very similarly to Bahamut Lagoon (minus the pet dragons) or Ogre Battle.  Each platoon consists of 4-9 units (with about 10 platoons at endgame, all with 7+ units), within 3 different rows (front/mid/back).  Which row the unit it is decides which attack the unit performs -- an archer in mid will do a medium damage volley onto an entire enemy row, while an archer in the back will do a strong single attack.  The platoons move around in a square grid, and also gain various abilities pending on who the leader is to use if they don't wish to attack -- ability to heal themselves/others, all sorts of buffs and debuffs, and such.  If the leader dies the entire platoon is defeated.

Awesome gameplay.  Characters are stupidly flanderized.  No eye-stabbing endgame grind that I wouldn't do anyways with an NIS game.

Huh.

There's a thought -- human gimme battles.  I was doing just monsters (a lot of battles just write themselves when breeding isn't possible), but a few human rescue/join ups will certainly fit the bill.  Barius Hill is a great place for such a deal.

Help! / Re: 1.3035 Easytype patch

Archers with a new skillset is a more recent addition into 1.3 (think that was... 13036?), and is too buggy to be included in easytype.
