I'm really liking your ideas, Skip Sandwich.  I've been looking at making Zalera my patch's resident necromancer, and that dark-all ability is genius for the encounter in which you face him.  

I've also been looking for something unique to give to ghosts, which have ended up fairly lacking relative to all the other monsters after my revamp, so I think I'm really going to steal that possess ability of yours.  You're like a stitched-up, mouldering, reanimated, floaty wisp-like lich-muse, you know that?

He looks like he could be Algus's little brother, so yeah, I can see him being noble.  What an adorable little bastard (if we're to believe the rumors).  He may not be the king of Ivalice, thanks to Delita, but he sure looks plucky nonetheless.

I got my betta unexpectedly, so I didn't have a prepared name for him (Argo=Dog, Bubastis=Cat, Gamera=Tortoise, for example).  For the first couple of weeks, I cycled through various historical and literary names until he was so infused with identification that he became, simply, Nomen, the Latin word for name.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have any buddies, so the only things he's able to viciously maul with his splash attack are individual food pellets.

Beginner's problem:

I'm trying to import the new Ahriman sprites over the existing vanilla Uribo line, following the tutorial on this site:

I downloaded the recolored ARLI.SPR, renamed it ARLI.BMP, and tried to import it over my extracted URI.SPR, to no avail.  An error message keeps popping up, speaking of an "unhandled exception" and other silliness.

What blatant thing am I doing wrong?  I'm humbly guessing it has something to do with the BMP, or lack thereof?

Sit there, yes, possibly.  Maybe even rot a little.  But only until it decides to reanimate, as Undead are wont to do, 50% of the time, every time.  That's the idea, anyway.  If a skeleton has no alternative but to reanimate, it should, theoretically, reanimate, no?  

Brilliant idea, by the way, whether it works or no.

But yes, the formation screen list is pretty limited relative to all the sprites in game.

My personal opinion would be no Navi.  Link only had a constant fairy companion hovering over his shoulder in the two N64 games, iirc, so I think there's enough precedence to go non-fairy.  

However, like I said before it would be cool to have a fairy floating over Link when dead.  It could either be like Navi yelling at him to wake up, like at the beginning of Ocarina of Time, or the fact that in the same game a bottled fairy could bring Link back to life by flying over his corpse.

Again, love it.  As I'm a career student myself, this would likely be my job class if I were more pixelated.  Still, I haven't learned how to project bursts of arcane energy yet.  You'd think a BA would be enough to at least produce a multicolored flash of light or something, but no.

Freaking state schools.  Enrolling at Gariland for my doctorate.

It's really quite pretty.  No suggestions, but a question or two:

Regarding the various spells at the Scholar's disposal, do they vary any in damage?  Or is the MP cost tied solely to increasing range and usefulness of the multipaneling while they all do equal damage?

And what vanilla FFT spells are these based off of/take effect files from?
