I received this in my student e-mail account...

And now, a word from the TMCC Information Security team
Last week, TMCC students received an email with the subject line: "(Your Name) - Honor Society Acceptance Letter." This is a fraudulent email, a "phishing attempt." It is an attempt at soliciting funds and your personal financial information. Do not click on any links or attempt to sign up. If you did click on the link, please scan your computer for viruses and spyware. TMCC did not endorse or approve of any of their activities.

Further, Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is TMCC's only honors society, and are not in any way associated with last week's fraudulent emails. PTK will have a fall recruitment period, and eligible students may receive emails from them at that time.

I knew it was a fradulent e-mail because I received an "F" in one of my classes in the spring.  Can't get my info, I'm too smart for any phising scam!
