One-sided all the way. It was status city: Stops, charms, don't acts, petrify, basically everything but the kitchen sink landed on Anima Zero's team. Once they had complete control, it was just a matter of laying them down, whether by death sentence or 0 HP. (Or petrify, in the case of round 2). No chance to do anything to the sweethearts, really. GG.

Looks like a team built specifically for Truelight's team. Didn't watch the 2nd round.
I like the idea of making a team just to counter another though.  None of my teams are good enough to request someone make a counter team though rip

Not at all. I've been in Arena for way too long and made way too many teams to start doing something like that now. I just wanted to make some kind of anti-long range anti-elemental team and see what it can do. That, plus I don't have one. So quick to assume.

Oh, if anyone is recording anything anytime soon, could I get a match with Six-Nine Sweethearts and some other team of mine?

Yeah, nothing much to say that wasn't already said by Barren.

I ROFL'd. THROW STONE! Hilarious commentary - loved it! For real, though - boss Otabo is damn proud of his workers; raises all around; the squire especially gets one, by how good of a job she did to disrupt those scholars. Some Muramasas here and there, too. Ninja did her job, too - but I think I might be able to tweak her a little bit. Wizard had her hands up all match and made magic happen, as was expected, and mediator, yeah I went against my own advice and gave that chick Absorb MP like a moron. AND HOLY S*IT THE SQUIRE REALLY HAS ABANDON. WOW. So moronic of me. Changing that ASAP. Team even lived up to their name a little bit in the end of round 2 when things were already over and done with pretty much.

Reckless Rainbow needs a few tweaks, but I like it so far. Team isn't designed to do high damage or even decent damage (well, the wizard kinda is, but yeah.), but to hate on mages and casters.

GG Mudvayne, decent first team, keep working on it. And yes, mages need some type of way to restore MP - most important thing on a mage, really.

Wow, I have to hand it to Reks' team for staying alive as long as they did in R2 - if only the geomancer weren't so busy with the paladin, it would have 'probably' been over much quicker. All those Deaths missing didn't help either; prime example of why I don't like the spell in the first place. But anyway, GG. Also, the ninja HAS to be changed. I'll come up with something for her though.

Chakra Band would be OP if it blocked petrifiy. It would make cursed monks even more powerful than they already are.

Thing is, before 1.39 was released, Chakra Band was blocking petrify like it was supposed to. Of course, that was back before Cursed Ring got its well-deserved nerf, too. But still, it wasn't OP then because there were ways around it. Hell, with all the status being thrown around by teams nowadays, we need more status blocking items - especially for non-armored units.

Heh. Didn't even know that team was undefeated. Learn something new everyday, I suppose. Anywho, good debut match for this team. They seem to work pretty well together overall. Might replace one of the mediators with a mime, but I love my mediators too much to do that. We'll see after this team has gone up against a few more teams. Will be watching this team closely. Also, if only Chakra Band was blocking Petrify LIKE IT SHOULD...that is literally the only reason why I'm so reluctant to run monks on my teams right now (most of them).

Rarely do any of my teams win against CT5Holy, so I'm glad to take this win and run with it.  Round 2 I expected to lose as soon as I saw the map; up to 4 Last Dances per cycle and, yeah...my guys weren't going to be getting turns. I agree, Phoenix Down wasn't enough, but in that sort of situation, no revival is going to be enough, really. But once those dancers got started getting statused, the team couldn't do much. Very GG. I like this team, too.

Love to see more matches like this. I want to see what mage teams can do against either of them. Thanks silentkaster.

Sandbagging should become a full time job for some...

FFT Arena 1.39c - Barren (Suicide Squad) vs. Shadowdragon15 (Anbu Black Ops Squad)

By the way, I recorded from my new laptop. Turned out decent, but still some small kinks to work out.

I was editing one of my teams just now, and figured there is no reason to choose Wizard as primary if you have a Lore/Black Magic unit (I could say the same for some other classes comparing to it actually). The Scholar is superior to the Wizard in every way possible, stat-wise. I'll copy the stats here for reference:

Class     HP   MP  SP  PA  MA  Move Jump C-EV  Can equip
Wizard    106  87  8   3   12   3    3    5    Rod,Hat,Clth,Robe,Acc.
Scholar   106  92  8   7   12   3    3    5    Swd,Rod,Stf,Book,Pole,Hat,Clth,Robe,Acc.

Dropping MA to 11 and losing the C-EV to 0 could be a way to change this among others

Doing that would make it literally worse than Summoner is currently. (aside from HP, which isn't saying much.) Real problem with Scholar isn't even its stats compared to Wizard, its the skillset (mainly Quake and Tornado). I don't even know why Scholar is even that close to Wizard in stats in the first place; that has always bugged me for the longest time now. Wizard, IMO, needs to be buffed, stat-wise; they're supposed to be the prime offensive magic class; why Scholar is better than Wizard is right now is beyond me.

Then again, I don't like using mages period, so whatever happens to 'em, happens.

QuoteMasamune (ability):
Separate: Haste, Regen instead of Add: Haste, Regen. You're still guaranteed one of the two if my knowledge is right about 'Separate'.

Too weak. People would just turn to Haste 2, as if that spell isn't ALREADY being overused enough as it is now as its much more reliable. It'll just become a staple on most teams, just like how Raise/Raise 2 is pretty much. And for Regen, yeah - there's plenty of better ways to get that, whether it be from equips or abilities.

None aren't allowed as far as I know. I reroll if I get the same map twice on the same match. I skip the odd checkboard one with the invisible water. I think it's for your own judgement to decide

I always rule out quite a few maps when I'm using RNG to decide them. Some of them are just unfair for a lot of teams, mostly because of the initial starting positions. I absolutely despise maps 52 (Chapel of St. Murond Temple; both teams are separated and far spaced from each other), 107 (NOGIAS; just flat out bad altogether; team 1 starts at 24h, 17h, 7h, and 3h; while team 2 starts at 22h, 20h, 9h, and 0h - in other words, if you aren't running Teleport, Fly or Ignore Height - you're pretty much screwed if your team isn't mobile ), 114 (END; everyone starts at a 1v1 position, though mimes could be interesting on this map - depending on the setups), 41 (Besrodio's House, only because that stupid object in the middle is STILL there), 36 (Church outside of Town; that chokepoint is retarded if both teams cluster there) and 15 (Gate of Limberry 1; one team is pretty much screwed over if they don't have Float/Feather Boots) are the main ones. When I'm recording matches, I always try not to pick these maps; other recorders do things differently, but in my case, I'll usually pick a decent to good map for both teams to fight on if RNG picks a map that I don't like.

Gimped from the beginning since Barren entire team was immune to berserk. My lack of DPS did my team in ultimately, though. Folks are using berserk protection more and more which makes me proud. Time to update this team, too - those mediators need something else to do in case they can't berserk anyone. GG.

Otabo, give the girls stop. Just do it pleeease! Kiyomori+bag smack probably doesn't make it into the top 1000 things that could possibly occur (which is why I love them so) but insult has a higher % than stall, so they'll probably kiyomori, insult, stall which is a pretty nice progression if you ask me. Makes it easier for your thief to hump a toaster in the corner or discover a black soul gem depending on your perspective ... do things.. I fucking love them [/spoiler]

Ehh, I'm thinking AI prefers Stall over Insult, though. And with everyone with item units running Chronos Tear, I dunno. Maybe. I'll test them with Stall and see what the AI does with it. The thief is actually getting on my nerves what with him being so passive 80% of the time; he's a good support unit when he needs to be, but yeah. Nobody knows when he'll actually attack. Monk seems fine, but I might need more DPS than that. They going on the shelf for a little while until I can figure out what to do with them.

I also recorded Barren (Some Offensive Team) vs. Otabo (Springtime Sisters). I need to find some music for the match and it will likely be up tomorrow or Tuesday.

Great. I need to see if I need to actually update Sisters since they haven't been touched for almost two years now (yeah, it's been that long since I updated them). Probably so. But we'll see. Looking forward to it.

Where are you guys seeing status on my team (aside from counters)? I dunno why you guys call Magical Thorns a status team when they have no status capabilities - I just don't see where that is coming from. Maybe I'm seeing things differently.

Anywho, that's a very special team that relies 100% on reaction abilities; it's not supposed to have any offense (besides counters). It's meant to stick together (as close as possible, anyway), try to outlast the other team and return damage back to said other team. But yeah. I'm not even going to acknowledge anything that happened during that first round; it was lost when the map was chosen. When my team is split apart like that, they can't do jack squat. Also didn't help that Shintroy's team hardly does damage aside from the Oracle (if she decided to use Spellbreaker) and the ninja (if she decided to use Kagesougi).

So, I'm calling for another match - preferably against a team that actually does consistent damage. That's why I was reluctant to see this match in my last post...but oh well. What's done is done.

Haha. RNG was indeed on your side here. Well played. GG. I need to do...SOMETHING with this team, I dunno. I don't like how it is currently. Needs an update badly. Just need to find out when I can update them.

QuoteGG otabo! Total disrespect is my favourite team in all of fft arena. I mean it. You like mediators, I like oracles, but I still consider you my greatest inspiration for team building (can I has your dancers pleeeease?)

Thanks. Appreciate it. And yes, I still like my mediators and my thieves, and my monks. Mimes are starting to peak my interest now, too.
