He's turning off everybody equally... I hope. Otherwise the other people are a lost cause and are blind.

The far right vote liked that though.  There's strong, strong opposition to gays/lesbians in that base.

It's down to ron paul/mitt romney.

What have you been smoking?  Ron Paul has his small dedicated core of true believers, but that's about it.  He doesn't have any major support.  It's the same thing that happened in 2008.

The sad part is that nobody's shocked that he said this. It's a total career killer and he doesn't even think he did anything wrong.

Career killer?  Not really.  This is a calculated move to appeal to evangelical Christians and the religious right.  However, it means that he'll turn off independent voters even more, meaning that he probably can't win a general election.

QuoteHowever, this requires us build EVERYTHING from scratch.

You know what?  Totally fucking worth it.

I dunno, FFT has a lot more variety in its ability/equipment system than, say, TO, unless you mean the PSP version. It also has the most tools and ASM knowledge currently, so it just seems easier to muck around with FFT.

This is what I meant.  Compare FFT and TO maps and characters.  FFT has much smaller maps, with far fewer amount of characters on them.  The limitations of the PS1 are the cause of this, sadly.  It also is missing a few cool features (2 player mode for instance).   FFT does have a lot of cool things going for it, but in some ways it was a step backwards.  This is why we should stop messing with FFT.  Let it die.

Make a new game that acts as a spiritual successor, it will give us so much more freedom.  As long as it avoids violating copyright law, I see no problem.

Also, wtf panthers? Uribo like you guys said....is the ideal replacement.....both are rare....small....I'm just not feeling it.....derp.

I asked Voldemort.  He replaced Uribos with Cactuars.

I hate to say it, but he's walking on ground already walked then. CCP, CoP, and PW already fill that "new FFT fan game" spot without the huge difficulty that a lot of people don't enjoy. So I dunno, I wish he'd scale back to his original goal of making 1.3 a harder/rebalanced FFT. It worked out well for him, and there's no reason to change that now.

Well, he's kind of gone insane.

Anyways, if you want to make a "fan FFT game", then I really think we can just make a new indie game.  The engine for FFT is very limited in what you can do (compare it to, say Tactics Ogre).  I played Ace of Spades, it's alright, but it doesn't seem that hard.  As long as you don't violate copyright law, you should be fine.

For PW, I replaced Uribos with Tonberries, and that seemed to work out fairly nicely and it was a smooth transition. I'm surprised he didn't do away with Uribos for 'em too.

Yeah, that works much better as a replacement.  Uribos are a rare monster (like Tonberries), while Panthers are a much more common one.  It affects the game a lot to remove them.

Also: the FFT engine is rather limited.  I think the whole endeavour to make a "sorta new FFT fan game" (which is what Voldemort is seemingly doing) is rather pointless.

Libreoffice could and should do for word processing what Firefox did for browsers.

Its easily good enough now to replace office for the average uni student or whoever.

QuoteLibre will get faster, count on it.  Two years from now, it'll be better than MS Office.

Right now the document foundation is trying to replace Java with C++, in order to make it faster.

LO is a fork of Open Office. You can save files as .doc or a bunc of other formats. I don't recommend getting rid of MS Office for now, but I think LO has enough for me to use it. Its better than pirating MS Office that's for sure. They're also removing as much of Java as they can, which is super awesome in my book.  MS Office 2010 is better, but LO is free. So whatever.

http://www.libreoffice.org/download/

You'll want 3.4

LO does not have an equivalent of Outlook though. To replace that, you could use Thunderbird with the Lightning extension:

Yes, Luna seems to be returning.  Kind of a Halloween episode.

For the season premiere, I thought the first episode was really strong.  Second was a bit weak, especially the end.  But seeing pissed off Twilight was wroth it.

@YasumiMatsuno Have you ever thought about writing a manga?

Well, the upcoming fan fighting game Fighting Is Magic will have an original soundtrack.  Done by "Derpy Hooves" and "RainbowCrash88".

The same people behind that have some other fan songs, but I'm not sure if they will be used in the game.  Luna's Theme has "epic boss music" written all over it.

He also did "Twilight's Sonata"

Seriously ask him about the 50 Year War. I need to know wheter he will or won't do it.

This is probably not an issue of whether he will or will not, but whether a studio will fund it.
36
I asked him:

"@YasumiMatsuno 1. Did Berserk anime/manga serve as an influence to FFT? 2. Have you ever thought about writing a manga?"

I'm not sure informing him of what we're doing to his game is such a wonderful idea.

Presumably he'd be flattered.  If you're afraid of the Square legal department, well, we're posting vids to youtube.  We're not super popular, but we're not that hard to find.
38
Ask him what he thinks about this site and the AI tourny.

Also, did the manga/anime Berserk serve as an influence for FFT?  There's some overlap in themes, and elements.

Ok, I watched the entire thing.

And my thoughts on not being able to see any more episodes until sometime this fall?

Damn good series and well on the way to being one of my favorite series ever (of any genre). It's.... immersive. The world is interesting and the characters believable. The animation, the writing, the voice acting, all top notch.

Not perfect (nothing ever is), but damn. I shouldn't of held off watching this.
