Title: Slow ppf-o-matic? Read this!
Post by: Xifanie on September 27, 2015, 01:42:35 pm
It is taking you hours to patch a ppf file?

I've decided to investigate and finally once and for all get rid of this issue.
It turns that ppf-o-matic just hates fragmented ISOs. But don't worry: there's a very simple to fix. You just need the right program. It's called "Defraggler" and it allows to completely defragment individual files.

1. Download, Install and Open Defraggler

2. Open your FFT Image

Now just wait for it to complete...

3. Patch away!

Thanks for finding this Xifanie! I know that whenever I tried to patch before it would take forever

You're welcome~

I knew that if I did figure it out, it would help a ton of people. I'm just glad that Defraggler exists, because it is so unbelievably convenient in this case.

Thanks Xifanie, I no longer have to wait 8 hours for these patches to complete patching!

So, I'm trying to patch FFT with some mods (I have a image that's a BIN file) namley Lion War and Journey of The Five and the patcher just stays there for hours and there doesn't seem to be an end to it. I tried Defraggler (image wasn't fragmented), I also tried having all files in root directory and none of the "fixes" did it for me. Apart from letting it patch till it finishes, anyone got any idea how to fix this ?

@thiagobprj Sorry, but even after all this time, the only recommendation I have is to patch using another computer. The process shouldn't be too painful with a USB flash drive.
