I use ePSXe, and it works fine for me, though others have reported problems with it, is that the one you got before?

This one's the easiest to use, no set up or anything.

It's illegal to provide one, but do a google search and it shouldn't take long to find.

No problem, there is actually a link to fix the issue on the bottom of the site I told you earlier (seems most people are missing this file, I was too), go there, then once you've got the file (assuming you have windows) go to: my computer, c: drive, windows folder, and put the file in either the system32 or just system folder(I forget which, if the 32 one doesn't work just try the other) and it should work, unless I have something mixed up.

config the video plugin.  odds are your fps limiter is on and running at 60 fps.  Ramp it up to 90 or 120 and tweak to taste.

I even went as far as turning the fps limiter completely off while I did some power-broken berserked frog training to powerlevel a new recruit up.  Took like 10 minutes of playtime, then I set it on auto-battle and went do something else for a bit.

thanks philsov, i believe i'm used to VBA and ZSNES where you may press a key to turn off the fps limit/fast forward.

If you're missing d3dx9_26.dll, that usually means your DirectX9.0c installation is not up to date. Though the version number never changes, it gets updates every few months, and that file is from an update released a couple years ago (scary that so many people haven't updated their DirectX in that long... >.>). Placing the file in pSX's folder is fine for getting it running, but having your DirectX installation completely up to date is much more recommended. And yes, the file belongs in the System32 folder.

In my emulator for the PSX it actually does have this feature, by default it's the backspace key, the emulator is named pSX_1_13

and as for the missing d3dx9_26.dll all I did was paste it in the same folder as my emulator and it fixed the problem, oddly enough
