Question about ENTD

I was just curious, in the ENTD there are about five instances per direction of each map. Are each of these the monsters/humans that could possibly appear per chapter while traveling around? If so, what is the order that they work in. (Since there is five, one chapter would be getting two of them.)

The 1,2,3, or 4 that folllows an instance indicates what chapter those instances become available in.  The 5th instance is a rare battle and becomes available during the 4th chapter.  Although I've heard rumors about people being able to activate the rare battles in earlier chapters.
