You gonna join in yourself, Barren?

Balthazar had opened his mouth to speak to the girl who had spoken to him, when he noticed a glint of a weapon. He immediately doused his flame, and spun into a low fighting stance. He barely had time to deflect the axe strike, and had to jump back again as he was stuck at a second time.

Balthazar couldn't see his opponent, but listened for it's breathing...

Like lightning, he lunged forward and buried his cinquedea to the hilt in the creature's gut, then pulled it out, letting the creature fall to the ground. He re-created the flame in his left hand, only to find a large gash across his shoulder.

Bal must have been hit right before he'd killed.... Whatever it was. He bent down to check, seemingly ignoring the pain from his arm.

I think the single class teams are just getting into vogue because of timing and circumstances.  For example, I made my all archers team simply because I made multiple teams and none of them had an archer. When I first joined back in mid-august, elemental absorb teams were becoming popular.  Another upsurge in popularity is teleport geomancers.

But I have to admit if I see that something's already been done it will often kill my enthusiasm to do it, even if it's an original idea that I created seperately.

All of the single-job teams that are being brought around now is only coincidence: I'd had thoughts to bring most of my older teams back eventually. It happening now only reminded me to bring back Minds now because it's a single-job team as well.

And full of my trademark class, the Bard.

Can I please get some battles against my newest team "Guests", too?

I volunteer Minds and Ogre Lands. Minds takes priority, since they still need some testing from the edits they got.

That chaos was unplanned for, by the way. But it WAS fun to see just how wonky the AI can get.

Magical Melodies will be retuned later when I feel like doing so, so for the moment they're in the repair shop.

Also, if you get to that showcase series of yours, feel free to toss them against SWA or Late to the Party. Somehow, I highly doubt that the Knights would be able to get past Nanten, what with Jump being unevadable, the Bard's vampiric weapon(and he's not as dumb as MM's Bard is), and the breaks from the Chemist.

But if you wanna test them by fire, go ahead.

After the thought edit: Seeing what same-job teams are being put out, it gives me an idea from one of my previous teams (the one Celdia liked). So they'll be resurrected as well.

Yeah.... That happened, didn't it? GG DomieV. You beat the odds. Rather, you made the odds and beat me with them. Whichever way you want that.

And I'll mess with the Oracle later. It never occured to me that she'd focus on using Summons over status when I remade the team, since I think I had a similar setup before and the inverse was true.... Well, it'll be changed, maybe to Time Magic. Stay tuned!

Have to say To Zanarkand. Undella Town is great, but it never made me feel like To Zanarkand has. Me being emotionally effected by music, anyway.

Upon hearing the girl's words, then the crash, Bal's own knives seemed to appear out of thin air into his hands. In reality, it was simply hard to see him pull both out of the dual-sheath he had inside his longcoat, but he WAS fast.

The heatless flame had not gone out, and covered the sword-breaker in his left hand, making the weapon appear to be ablaze.

For a second, if his face had been visible, the others might have been shocked to see a ferocity not often seen in humans. Then Balthazar saw what had made the sound, sighed deeply and sheathed his knives in a fluid motion, and spoke out.

"Might want to be careful, you gave us all quite the scare. Now then, come over here so we can see you properly."

Balthazar had evaded the knife ONLY because he had already ducked after the explosion. Dropping even lower to the ground, he layed there, unmoving as he listened for movement.

After a moment, he stood, VERY slowly, to check and see what had thrown the knife at him. He was surprised to see two girls, though in the dark he couldn't tell their ages.

Using a trick he'd learned in the slums of a city halfway built underground, he allowed his hand to catch fire. The flames did not burn him, but merely provided a usable amount of light.

"My goodness..... What might you young girls be doing in this dreary place? And, sorry if I scared you or anything, but you wouldn't happen to know what caused that.... Well, commotion not too long ago?"

Your team hit harder and lasted longer, plus you got the short end of the stick on a great map against me. Other than that, they did their best. GG!

Once they get that rhythmic attack pattern in, it's hard to last long against it. GG Ahong, and those two 20 MA/PA units of yours are scary...

Dispite being unfinished, they had such a lasting power that surprised me. That mime was useless, as expected, but the rest can easily be tweaked here and there. GG Tai!

Masamune is one of those wierd ones that, if it was as it used to be, it's too powerful. And if it becomes only self-targeting, it'd be kinda weak, but that in turn would make Haste and such a bit more desired. So to be honest, there's no fair solution since no matter what, someone is gonna bitch about it.

In my own opinion, if it were nerfed to self-targeting only, it'd make Time Magic more appealing, which I haven't seen used for support in a while. But I support magic over other abilities, so that's my bias.

Now time to cook up a team with a Time Mage.

Reks here. Subname Balthazar/Kyote/Harvey Bardman/Reksanden

Just a quiet guy, trying to be funny now and then.

Ugh, why can't I talk about myself? Because I'm so humble that I have nothing good to say.

Well, I'll just throw it out anyway.

Alrighty. Off the internet, in that WONDERFUL place called 'real life', I'm just your regular Navy sailor. Travelling the world (Asia at present), having fun, being in love, playing games, and just overall enjoying myself. Plans? Nothing major, except wanting to marry a certain someone. And well.... Going to college for counseling psychology, since I seem to be good at being sympathetic and giving advice.

As for games.... Anything RPG and that can hold my interest. I especially love grid-based games, thus FFT, Tactics Ogre, Disgaea, Etrian Odyssey (dungeon crawler but it counts), ect.

Really want a custom sprite for myself (in actuality, my RP character Balthazar), but i'm too impatient to actually sprite and I'm too shy to ask the spriters here. No, that's not a subliminal message... Or maybe it is.

ANYway.

Favorite patch? Arena. Arena, Arena, Arena. Love it to death, though I can't count myself as one of the veterans yet.

Anything more will be added later when I don't have to pee so badly.

First edit: Ah, yes. Forgot to mention that I REALLY love bards. Bards are my favorite people. Persons. Job/class.

"Crap...... Crap crap crap CRAP!"

Balthazar ran for his life from a group of stampeding chocobos, from whom he'd stolen many down feathers. They were after him because, as he was leaving, he broke an egg, and incited their wrath.

"Leave.... Me.... Alone.... You..... Stupid..... Birds....."

Beginning to tire, Balthazar did the only thing he could to get away; He lept, and using his magic to keep him aloft, bounded several hundred yards, well ahead of the angry chocobos. He kept leaping as such, until he was sure he'd left the stampede far behind. Leaning against a large stone to catch his breath and gain his bearings, he realized he'd gone further than intended. Instead of ending up in the plain where he'd camped, he was at the edge of a dark-looking forest.

Curiousity soon got the better of Balthazar, and he wandered in. Not long after he'd entered the forest, in the distance he noticed a very bright flash and explosion of sound. Balthazar lept several feet into the air at this, and making sure it wasn't anything after himself, slowly moved torwards the source of the light and noise.

Name: Balthazar Legros
Age: 22
Height: 6'3
Magic: Geomancy (Wind)
Type: Never uses it offensively, only to bolster his own movement and speed. He can also 'leap' great distances by using momentum and air support to carry himself.

Back Story: Balthazar was an orphan of a war, and was forced to grow up among the slums of many a city, living amongst the lower classes and various criminals. He bears no sympathy for those who take advantage of others for personal gain, and has gained a bit of a reputation as an accomplished assassin, thief, and bard. He mostly keeps to himself, preferring the company of cats and other small animals. Over the course of his life, he learned how to fight using two daggers, one larger (a cinquedea) for striking and a smaller sword-breaker blade for parrying. For money purposes he plays a number of instruments, mainly the violin (which he stole from a noble house, so it posesses a remarkable quality). Balthazar is also insane, from bad blood in his family and continued mental torture from a band of thieves that he once had stolen a good amount of food from.

The RNG hates SWA, nowadays. Nanten has been enjoying victory after victory, however. So.....

Thanks for the matches, Otabo.
