What programs are you using? And what do you mean you can't use red? Any chance you could show it off at normal resolution, I just don't personally find it very useful to look at things blown up but maybe other people are of a different opinion?

Okay so the number one thing you need is to make your second lightest shade of white/gray a little darker (the shade that is found on the outside of his lower legs). Get good gradients is key to not having your sprite look flat. As for how to work with a program I only use Photoshop, but I have lots of experience with that program. There are other programs for Windows that are just for sprite editing that people here can recommend that are mentioned in other threads in the custom sprite forum.

You may want to make the link take us directly to the page that has the sprites. I didn't see where the sprites were on that site.
I changed jobs and that has made all the difference.

ok here they are. found a program that won't dramatically change the colors when I set it to 16 colors.

I've been thinking of making a special class just for him able to equip armors, guns, katanas and maybe some special guns and katanas that resemble his weapons along with an innate reequip. If anyone wants to help set his parameters or give suggestions I'm open to suggestion. Maybe add Zreo in it too.

Hmm looking pretty good. I would just suggest making your darker shade of red just a little lighter, small adjustment can make a big difference. And if you can when you save things to show them off do it as a png or gif. It looks like your little preview has a bit of distortion from being saved as a jpeg. I hope that doesn't sound snobby, jpeg distortion is just really distracting on these small sprites.

I think you are ready to try more angles and maybe more suggestions will come to me then.

Criticism is why I put it up, and no it doesn't sound snobby I didn't know it distorted it thanks.

Hm, not sure why katanas, but ... I'd think he'd have something like higher end MA growth with higher end HP growth too, while his speed is moderate, but slightly above normal. Not sure why you're adding him though, lol ... he'd be so out of place. xD But to each their own.. yeah, might go ahead and add Zero while you're at it and have him use all types of blades. Something like that. ^^

 actually thats exactly who i used, well going out for a while here's the sprite sheet if anyone wants to tinker with it, I also did the back but not so sure if it looks good. BTW, is it possible to make his casting animation look like he's using his buster arm? (like he's shooting it?)

The white it still looking just a little flat, especially on that rear view where there is more of it. You might need one more shade of white, but I'm not sure. It may or may not be possible to make the blaster position for casting. You can see where the normal casting animation is, it is two frames lined up vertically on the left side of the sprite sheet near the top (detailed enough for you, next time I will just give you coordinateds by counting pixels). I just don't know how big the area is that you have to work with. I would assume that you could go all the way to the edge of the sprite sheet, and in that case you should be able to manage it. I just doubt you can move his torso around at all, so you have to just work around where he is already positioned.

You couldn't edit the arms so that it looks good on casting the way you want.. the game uses a few different files addressing the position of each body part at each animation and it's not very editable without screwing up all the other sprite sheets using the same file.

Love what you're seeing? https://supportus.ffhacktics.com/ 💜 it's really appreciated

Anything is possible as long as it is within the hardware's limits. (ie. disc space, RAM, Video RAM, processor, etc.)

Haha I just did this in a few minutes to give you an idea of how it could be done. The color reduction in this is pretty terrible those so that is why it looks so grainy.
