why is it still the same as the psx?...... also why can't it be edited like the psx?....... AND WHERE THE F$%^ ARE THE NEW SPRITES HIDING!?!?!?..... okay frustrations aside has anyone figured this out yet? or at least delved throught all those unknown files yet? we really need to post what all of them are or at least the good stuff

it looks to me like sony very literally tagged the new sprites on to the very bottom of the file, after all the garbeldygook space.

It's called fftpack.bin. it's in a subfolder

extract fftpack.bin with the FFTPatcher and UNIT.BIN will appear in the same folder it appears in for the PSX version. However, it seems like most of the basic things in the PSP version are identical to the PSX version except for the new stuff which was implemented differently.

Until the file which holds those sprites or the pointers are found, you are pretty much stuck with messing with the original cast of the game.
