News:

Use of ePSXe before 2.0 is highly discouraged. Mednafen, RetroArch, and Duckstation are recommended for playing/testing, pSX is recommended for debugging.

FFTA/FFTA2 Hacking / Re: FFTA on 3DS

Well, I had forgotten about this xD

I successfully converted the rom to cia, and installed it on my 3ds, it's working perfectly thus far :3 even after making changes with AIO editor

Ass REMake to that list.

Ass? Huh.

Also, most remakes tend to be better than the originals, WOTL just got the short end of the stick.

Ocarina of Time 3D was far superior to the original, as is Majora's Mask 3D. In fact, it would be easier to list the remakes that AREN'T better than the originals. Like Valkyrie Profile Lenneth.

It's been possible for a while now, far more than a month iirc

I'll be testing out FFTA today

Not injection.

It's converting a GBA rom into an installable cia file, which is the format most 3ds files are in

Tbh, I'd like an actual remake, not a port (nor a port of a port of a port, for that matter)

I really liked Ivalice, but it seems so dead now...

FFTA/FFTA2 Hacking / FFTA on 3DS

Hello everyone, I don't know if peeps here are aware of/would benefit from this, but it is possible to natively (aka not an emulator) play GBA games on 3DS by patching a part of the 3ds system and converting gba roms into .cia (3ds file format) games.

This requires Custom Firmware, I have yet to test it out, but it should be possible to play FFTA (with hacks and all) on the 3DS.

Just wanted to lay that down, if anyone is willing to try, here's the link:

As far as I know, nitwit needs a text dump with data and stuff, I would have done it, but I lost interest myself (even tho I was the one who requested it in the first place xD)

Dunno if nitwit still comes here, but if he does, someone could properly provide the data he needs.

Lots of stuff can be done :3 like having 2 Morgans, 2 Avatars, same-sex supports, etc.

It's looking pretty awesome :D

Hi everyone! Since people here like Turn-Based Tactics games, I thought I might bring this to your attention.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_Emblem_Awakening

Like it says in the article, FE:A is a 3DS game, and can be modded if you have Custom Firmware on your, like I do.

Most of the hacking data is in this thread.

In my opinion, this is an awesome game, and despite how much I love FFT, I have to admit FE:A completely blows it out of the water.
11
Excellent! Looking forward to it  :D
12
It works now, thanks a lot :D
13
Checksum validation? I'm using xdelta ui, what are you using?
14
I'm using an USA rom too, so I don't think that's the problem :(
15
Mmm, xdelta is giving me an error message, saying "window checksum mismatch XD3 INVALID INPUT"

Wonder what's wrong :(
16
Sure thing, when the end result is similar you should pick the method you find more efficient, good luck :D
17
It depends, there are 2 programs written in java, and both of them work adequately, but you should write on the language you feel most comfortable in.
18
ET, you forgot to attach the folder.

EDIT: done

Honestly, I would find a text editor most useful right now, as well as an actual battle editor. Most other changes can be made with other editors, but text editing is currently slow and inefficient, and battle editing is very tedious.

Exactly, though I put a battle editor first in my hacking needs since it is far simpler to make (I think) than a text editor, what with all the text characters, pointers, stuff like that.

This game's board in gamefaqs? It's mostly dead, posted it on gbatemp, no replies so far.
