October 29, 2012, 01:56:30 am
So I've got RPG Maker on my pc and I wanted to do some light hacking such as changing the in-game soundtrack and what not. Is there a program available that will allow me to do this?

The Lounge / Help with the Heaven & Hell Twins
August 21, 2012, 07:44:28 pm
You know the ones, Rafa and Malak... I can't seem to come up with good support abilities for the twins that compliment each other.

For Rafa I usually have the following:

Truth
White Magic
Regenerator/Auto-Potion or Distribute
Magic Defense Up
Move+2/Move-Find Item

and for Malak

Un-Truth
Black Magic
Counter Magic/Damage Split
Magic Attack Up
Move+3

Well Malak's initial set up seemed good and all except for the whole low faith thing which severely decreases the effectiveness of his magic attacks, which also kind of totally throws a monkey wrench into my whol complimentary White Mage/Black Mage set up. Any suggestions for alternates?

The Lounge / I want to make a wiki
July 23, 2012, 01:20:18 am
Compiling all of the added content & characters from FFT Remix and Mercenaries. Reading through Remix thread, it sounds like a great alternate to the original Tactics, and I've seen tons of wonderfully detailed OC-sprites on the board and I'd love to make a place for them with their backstories and stats. Would anyone be willing to contribute (by way of OC's name, history, role in story, stats, etc)?

The Lounge / My umpteenth FFT playthrough
February 02, 2012, 07:09:06 pm
I'm starting a new Playthrough in Tactics as I do once per year (usually twice), I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on goals or tricks/things I could do during this particular play through to spice it up a little. I'm currently on Chapter 2 nearing the Goug battle and unlocking the Samurai class.

PSX FFT Hacking / Job Change Joker Command
November 01, 2011, 11:20:11 pm
I came across Czardragon's job change code for Tactics on the PSX. I was wondering if the joker command: D019A204-???? if the last four digits were meant to be left blank (all zeroes) or if there are some missing digits.

PSX FFT Hacking / Parting Shot!
June 19, 2009, 04:18:29 pm
So what's the deal with Parting Shot (insert name here) has left your party. So far I have only gotten this when I have sharked certain characters in or replaced the fefault Ramza with a different one via the World Debug menu. Is this supposedly what happens if an ally gets "invited" by an enemy mediator?

I've gotten this the most often whenever I use Altima 1 in a battle, and most recently after completing fort Zeakden after replacing Delita and (presumably Ramza) although it said Reis had left my party. Does anyone know a reason for this?

After playing my 50th game or so of Tactics I've come to notice quite a few interesting things that can occur in the game that maybe helpful for others to know in case they want to trigger it or find out where it will occur. This includes some very basic information as well as rare occurrences. I know a lot of veteran players will already know most of this , but it may come in handy for new players since this can be used for the WOTL version as well.

1. Undead: Life equals death for undead enemies (i.e. Gusts/Skeletons/Zombie stats, etc.) using curative items and spells will have the adverse affect on them. Conversely, using drain or night sword will deplete HP from you and replenish the undead instead.

2. Eliminating the undead: The best and most resourceful ways to eliminate undead monsters from resurrecting are to petrify them, seal them (using snipe), or to poach them which will remove their carcass from the field eliminating any chance of resurrection.

3. Guests: Every so often a random battle will occur where you may have a guest ally fighting beside you (could be a chocobo, a female lancer, male knight, or whatever) there is a small chance that after the battle the guest will try to join your party (this has happened to me a few times, I always declined because my party had reached maximum occupancy). I am not 100% sure on what you need to do in order to trigger an invite from a guest, I've been experimenting around with this and have tried killing the guest off and ressurrecting him/her or increasing the length of the battle. So far I think it is just a matter of chance that there is a 05 - 10% chance that a random guest will try joining your party after the battle.

4. Soft Resetting + Gameshark Codes: Gameshark codes will not be affected by a soft reset (L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 + Start & Select) and will remain active unless you manually press the console reset button or power the device off.

5. Two Swords: This command works well with just about any weapon; swords, daggers, katanas, ninja swords, knight swords, and even rods & staffs. If you have a gameshark you can shark in an additional gun into Mustadio's left hand [3005xx87 00??] (so long as he has the Two Swords support equipped) he can fire a gun twice in a row.

6. Snipe Command: The snipe command works beautifully with the Bow/Crossbow combination, and as we have seen before it works well if the user is unarmed or is using a dagger or a gun.

7. Countering: certain weapon equips/conditions can prevent a character from countering an attack. I've noticed that characters with guns who are equipped with counter as a reaction ability can counter with an average success rate from long range and the same goes for archers as well, I've tested this out on book-users (Oracles, and Olan) and it doesn't seem to work the same way (most likely because of the attack pattern of the books). Brave is also a factor in countering, the higher the brave the better chance of a counter attack. The only reaction ability (for PSX mind you) that I have had little to no success with is "Hamedo", where almost every time the enemy lands a perfect close-range physical attack without triggering the effect.

PSX FFT Hacking / A Question (CD-PSX not Emulator)
June 05, 2009, 11:38:48 pm
Is there a way to make the generic classes resemble their alternate colors, like make a generic thief look blue, purple, or red? Example: http://www.ffhacktics.com/spr.php?id=THIEF_M.

I don't mind if it's a battle-only code, I'm just curious If I need to integrate the numbers listed on there next to the spites and how.

PSX FFT Hacking / Algus Character Quote?
June 01, 2009, 09:21:55 pm
I've been searching through the US Gameshark handbooks and haven't been able to come across a character quote code for Algus' character quote ("Use 'break' to shatter the enemy's weapon!"). I've tested it out with the second Agrias code (34) but it was just  a duplicate, does an Algus quote code exist, I mean he has one he's a guest for 1/2 of chapter 1. Any help would be much appreciated
