Post about what hte necromancer should be here.

The blue mage skills are mostly going to be the ones you see in skip's monster thread.

Undead buffs would include a haste or shell ability that only affects undead. or a charm 65% undead only. a regen to undead only.

Essentially, it would be a beastmaster/dragon tamer for the undead.

Edit:

The undead buff oriented class won, pulling out in a grandline of 6 votes!

option #1: Blue Mage type, sepcializing in the undead monsters skills
Option #2: Undead oritented class, able to buff the undead and deal dark damage.

I like the idea of it being an Blue Mage, a new take on a Necromancer.
I refuse to play Final Fantasy Tactics again until I am able to do my FF6 patch! And, FFT 1.3 doesn't technically count as FFT: so there!

I think the blue mage Idea would be cool but I'm still swingin for the second option.
Oh pitiful shadow lost in the darkness, bringing torment and pain to others. Oh damned soul wallowing in your sin, perhaps...it is time to die

Quote from: "CidIII"I like the idea of it being an Blue Mage, a new take on a Necromancer.

Actually in the FFV remake, the necromancer class worked like a dark blue mage.

Maybe have the Necromancers have dark summon spells? Maybe a few dark generic spells(like normal black magic, like Fire, Fira, Firaga)

Voted the latter.
14:45  @SilentB         ò "Hey, Cosgrove, how come you never married?"
14:45  @SilentB         ò "Because I eat too much meat."
14:46  @Celdia          ò Heresy. No such thing as 'too much meat'
14:47  @Celdia          ò One night with tithin would teach you that.

Their both good ideas, but I prefer the BM.

If you do the BM idea, you've gotta find a way to encorporate marlboro spores somehow...but if you get hit by it you're a marlboro and CANT learn it...maybe you could set that one skill to be learned only by picking up a marlboro crystal!

haha i wish enigma. the problem with marlboro spores is that if you use when there isnt a marlboro on the map, the sprite glitches up :o

Aways wondered if it was possible to make a Necromancer resurrect dead unites and control them for a turn.

But I'm just blabering the myself. I like the undead booster.

I like the second option + Grandys' idea. :D

Or perhaps a charm-like ability with better %age only working on undead.

Yea, old necromancers had that charm with high% on undead :)

unfortunatly resurecting dead units and causing charm at teh same time i dont think is possible...

Couldn't you make the spell start with the rez, then go to undead, then to charm?  What gave me the idea was that rafa's attack that casts a spell a certain number of times, just in random areas.  Couldn't it be possible to make it more controlled so it would do those certain effects in that certain order in that certain area?

simply put: no

You can hit one targe tmultiple times, and make it not random hits(the arch mage uses this mechanic to hit multiples and always on a real target)

But you cant change the status inflicted halfway through. its true you could add all the statuses into one inflict status. but then itd inflict all of them, or do them randomly. and since to rez you need to select 'Cancel effects' instead of 'All or Nothing' it would cause insta-death if you tried to inflict all three at teh same time.

hmm...
Ok better idea

How about a spell that you cast on corpses that destroy them instantly and unleashes a zombie based attack to surrounding enemies...
I can see how this one wouldn't work, but if it did it would be cool.

Besides that it would be a cheap way of stopping the AI from rezzing, if they used it on you, youd lose a unit permenantly and without a crystal...

Kinda overpowered/cheap/disadvantagous if you think about it. Its a good idea, but if the AI gets it off, its basically an auto reset with nothing you can do to save your unit.

A good idea. I always like Corpse Explosion. its just not the fairest/best idea...REALLY cool, but it wouldnt fit in

How about Necromancers being able to summon a skeleton with 1 HP each turn? Though, I don't think creating unites midway battle is possible.
