Utility help for returning noob.

I started to get into hacking fft many years ago, but never got very far.  I am returning to take another whack at it, but I don't have the desire to do elaborate ASM hex editing.  It is a little too intimidating to me at this point.  I used a utility before, but can't seem to find it, or any mention of it.  It was a simple, intuitive graphical interface with drop down boxes, etc.  Perfectly suited for easy editing of jobs, items, abilities, etc.  Can someone jog my memory, or point me in the direction?  Also, any guides out there for the super-noob at hacking would be useful.  I find most of the tutorials that are stickied to be a step or two above me.

FFTPatcher is what you're thinking of, which is found under Hacking / Patching tools > Download Tools

http://ffhacktics.com/smf/index.php?board=75.0

and a tutorial index which is found in the board called "tutorials and learning".

Thanks.  That utility sounded familiar, but I got hung up on the PSP logo beside it, and didn't notice the PS logo was there as well.  I checked out that list of tuts, but as I said, are still a step or two above me.  When I want to devote a full day or two to bashing ASM into my head, I might suck it up.  Thanks again.

ASM is programming, it takes even people who DO understand it, more than a day or two to learn how it works here.

Not to discourage you, we'd love to see more ASMers, but I just dont want you to go into it thinking it will take you a few days and then give up when it doesn't.

I wish you luck

Fixed. :P

Seriously though, if you want to dedicate some time into learning it, custom formulas and disabling unwanted features are probably the easiest place to start.  The tutorials can be confusing when starting out.
