Mind doing a match for SWA when you can, CT5?

EDIT: Added a new team of mine, Monster Hunters. It's not to be taken too seriously, as I literally made it in 10 minutes. You CAN use it if you want to, and I'd like to see what shenanigans they pull, but my focus right now is on SWA. CS will be brought back in their original form when I become less lazy.

New Project Ideas / Re: Patch Ideas Proposal Thread

I MIGHT work omn this myself, over time, but I've got no idea how to even do basic edits and whatnot, so it'd take a loooong while to do.

Basically, what I aim to do was replace FFT's story and such with that of Tactics Ogre's, as they're similar, and yet different. Or do a crossover story, taking elements from both and making something entirely new.

I AM kinda supposed to make a few sprites from TO, so that'll happen eventually.

Also, the classes. TO's classes are in-depth in a different format, and I've only played it's PSP remake, so i'm not familiar with how it used to be. Basically, instead of learning abilities from each class, classes in TO have skills and such, universal to most, such as Fortify I-IV(some classes may never learn the higher levels, but can still use them if learned while the unit was a different job), as well as having some that can only be used by one class (the Archer's Doubleshot, for example, can only be used by Archers).

Magic is also learned differently, as they're gleaned from scrolls and grimoires to learn the spells, rather than as a skill. They also had to have the base magic type for them learned, as it was not universal.

So seeing as much of TO's system implimented would be highly interesting, however difficult it may be.

I believe there IS a class-patch for XI somewhere around here. I remember it, because the paladins in it piss me off to no end. They do their job well. TOO well.

But I believe you'd be free to make your own version, which I'd gladly support.... Though I can't edit, hack, or make sprites (well, not very good quality sprites, anyway). But I'm always willing to test and such, so that could be good when things get started.

I am in awe of SWA. It rhymes and I don't care because that team is so crazy.

@Reks Is naming your priest in SWA Raine (with an e) rather than Rain (without an e) a reference to Tales of Symphonia's Raine? (Raine's pretty much a white mage anyway)

Glad someone caught on, or took the time to mention it. Yep, you got it.

Round 1: Archers got stuck behind the walls, and were unable to hit Dark's units for the first few minutes. Once they were able to, though.....

Round 2: Archers could reach Dark's team in one movement. Chaos ensues.

Round 3: SWA has an (unintentional) thing about them: Only Hurricane and Raine can injure the others if they're charmed. So while it might have given Dark an initial advantage, the Archers getting charmed doesn't do much but delay them a turn. Then again, I've seen that happen in a test, so it very well could have turned the tables on me. GG, Dark!

This is what happens when you play FTL. About 1/.....20 runs will get you to The Last Stand, and another 1/20 to actually beat it.

Nice you've found FTL. Which means you have a Steam account. *goes to find*

Sure, I'm always up for advice and such.

My luck has been terrible in Tactics Ogre. Getting his with consecutive crits constantly, missing on 90% shots repeatedly.

Not surprised to see that carry over here. Oh well.

Looks like the changes overall didn't do 'too' well, though further tests will have to speak. Though I'm thinking overall on just reverting the team to their previous version.

Ahh, Terranigma. So overlooked....

Well, as the sprite gurus here would tell you, it's best to start with something that already exists and modify from there. Plenty of references also helps, but given how few people know about Terranigma, and Ark through extension, you might not find many.

All in all, the best help I myself can give is telling you to work on it a bit yourself. Front and back standing frames are the best to start with, in my opinion. So yeah, work on it a bit, post your progress, get feedback and continue working on it until you're satisfied.

Wherein I take a leaf from The Damned's book and post my opinions on the videos. Some of them, anyway.

Yay, Dark's Madness Ensues were more challenging foes this time around! That second match was close. I wonder if my team would have been able to stay in it if the Squire hadn't got an turn right after being Raised. Also, that HAS to be the first time I've seen Throw Stone actually KO someone, let alone with the round for them.

The Damned not only won a match, he took all three. I'd honestly thought it was Celdia's match to win in the second round, but a couple of crits and that cursed Geomancer turned things around there. Round three had the Dancers blocking most of the Samurai's actually damaging swings, and Death hit each time it was used here. So a good performance from your Seraphs of Death, Damned.

I'll probably save Madness Ensues vs. Severe Weather Alert for the very last unless DarkxFatal or Reks doesn't want me to.

I don't mind, on my end. Whatever you feel works for you.

So Tai's been gone for a bit? Huh. Didn't notice it.

No complaints or anything from me. I get to fight Dark twice, which'll be fun.

Vocals are fine with me. I actually like what you're using now, but mixing it up'd be cool too. I might refer a few things from other games and such to you, from time to time, actually.

Just had an idea - what if we gave a shield Initial: Reflect? I was thinking of turning the Crystal Shield into this since its current ability is rather niche. Evade can stay the same, though realistically it'd probably be safer at 15%/15%. Alternatively, give Crystal Shield Initial: Reflect in addition to Neutral: All Elements?

An Initial: Reflect shield with decent evade would be a rather attractive option for mages, or for anyone, actually, haha. I dunno, what do you guys think?

*obligatory Zelda Mirror Shield joke here*

Sounds fairly good to me. Also offers another option for reflect, as not everyone wants to use their accessory slot for Reflect Ring or support for Equip Armor, if they can't equip the Mirror Mail already.

I don't mind them being used, I just took them off the active roster for reasons of SWA focus. You're free to use them in any matches you've got planned, and I'd actually planned to repost at least them soon.

All in all, GG Dark. To put it lightly,
Status Hell.

So, with that said.... Would you like some more status with your status?

Actually, I think it was suppose to happen. I was playing FFT Vanilla today and one of my units with a P Bag got poisoned. I tried taking it away with Masamune/Regen, but the poison continued to remain. I used Stigma Magic and when the poison was removed, Regen was back. I guess Vanilla and Arena has the same mechanics in terms of initial/always.

Huh, interesting. Possible counter to Masamune and Nurse spam? Won't stop the Haste on Masamune, but....

EDIT: And then I read this post from The Damned on Youtube, same match.

"As for the Paladin's Nurse not restoring Regen status after he was Poisoned, it was because he still *had* Regen status from Light Robe, which for some weird reason doesn't just "reactivate" & negate Poison the next turn. It's been that way since Vanilla, but it's easy to miss for several reasons."

As seen in my latest match with SWA (thanks again, Barren!), an odd thing happened.

Hawk's Eye was used on a unit, which it did what it's supposed to do: Oil and Poision. However, when said unit used Nurse to heal itself, it didn't get Regen.

Don't think that's supposed to happen, entirely.

Of course you can. You'd have to make a new formula for it that makes it do so, though. How do you do that? I dunno that one, as I'm not good with that stuff yet.
