How about removing the KO count?
Just there are so few revive skills...

So are you saying to put everyone immortal flagged? mmm...
It might be considered...

This will be a good idea since you are limited and characters and cannot recruit new ones. Please forget that you hate me, Kokojo and try to do this.

How does Koko hate you. I at least can hardly ever understand what your saying. You are like a monkey clinging to our backs, cheekily eating all the bananas. No offense, I just never really got to putting most of your posts through a grammar filter.

Some nonsensicals things he said in the main thread, plus a lot of spamzors.

But now you made a very good point. Ilya and Schaefer should be guests. You will be able to recruit more units very soon, but both these should be immortal. But then they would be obligatory and not placable on the formation screen. I guess that's better than nothing.

Grats on the forum kokojo, enjoy the life of a mod~ :D

I suggest you make a small post about the overall story of CoP, and explain it in depth. Public opinions help.

If the people are important to the story, make them immortal. Otherwise, don't bother.

For now, 2 immortals :P

You can lose John, but not Ilya and Schaefer.

Mmmm not impossible, I could beat it withouth any problems, but the difficulty of the first three battles has been turned down, magic too.

Hello People ! So I just realised I had a lot to do for the next version of COP. Right now, I am focusing on events, rather than gameplay, but Il have to tackle that soon. A lot of problems happened with the Innate defence up and innate magic defend up, so I removed both.

I also implemented some ASM hacks :
Male/Female have equal PA/MA (Everyone is like males !)
Attack up/defend up, ect are now 20% each.
Global-C-EV

Basicly, il revert the PA and Weapons to do around 4 to 6 damage at the begining, and focus more on what the sword gives you...

I also changed the Sorcerer Skillset, wicth was basicly and upgraded version of the elementalist. In fact, the Sorcerer has the same Skillset. WHAT, you say ? Well I figured out that with the shortage of skills in COP (since we don't get items), I had to get a new skillset slot opened. So the Sorcerer can use elemantalist + any skill, and with Low hp, but very high damage, it's a true style Glass cannon. Prepare to revive them, elementalist are way more balanced anyway.

So, I am looking for all ideas you can ever find, all suggestions.

Also I reduced the difficulty of the first battles, and I also will reduce the Normal stats of every unit, to make them even more Fire-emblem like. (start at what, 10, finish at 50 :P)

QuoteI also will reduce the Normal stats of every unit, to make them even more Fire-emblem like.

Best implementation. :)

Can you reduce EXP gain and JP gain, too?
Title:
Post by: Kokojo on October 25, 2009, 03:07:41 am
Err, I can. But I won't. There is a big problem with reducing JP gain (you learn abilitys from leveling, a lot of them, when you get a job level up, so I actually pumped it up to insane levels (25jp per action..:P)

Also, for exp, I left it normal, the game should be finished at level 40 max.

will there still any equipment restriction? ribbon&perfume anyone? since afaik men don't have any equipment advantages over women! :(
Title:
Post by: Kokojo on November 04, 2009, 09:28:15 pm
Hahaha, I think Il find another use for the perfumes... if I can. Otherwise, well, I won't use them....

And of course, Enemies in COP are always stronger than you. You can't logicly powerlevel too much in a single battle, there IS some fixed battles (bosses, harder enemies) but the majority is party level + X

Here's a suggestion. Have you considered giving Schaeffer and possibly Ilya custom sprites? As far as Ch. 1 is concerned, they're standout characters, so maybe they should have unique looks to 'em?

Great job so far, Kokojo.

I will continue work on spelling and grammar if you want, soon.
I still need a bit of time. Maybe up to a week max.
Just send me the updated stuff again, if you want me to help.

Hi, I have only recently started playing it and have only just arrived at the castle and I have to say...I was completely surprised and practically freaked out when I saw what Lysay did! It took me a moment to calm down after I was like..."Did that really just happen!?"

So to make something that will turn very long winded quite quickly, great job thus far!

I find it hard to take scenes involving Ilya seriously when I turn her into a mentalist.  Zipping around in that pose is just too silly.

I think once you get all the technical business down, it may be in your best interest to..spruce up nearly everything literary because at the moment it's workable but I think you can definitely get something better out of the concept.

Ilya and Schaefer need a custom sprite. They also need to be seen longer so that I feel an actual emotion other than "well there goes my best ___."

Can the recruited allies throughout have set brave and faith so that I don't need to reset the battle for good ones?

At the battle where Lysay is ambushed in the swamp (...which I'm assuming is supposed to be a forest..as they just fought angry trees), could the placements of all the parties be a bit more spread out? You're RIGHT next to both parties and they go before you, so the ability to "run away" doesn't quite work. I love the battle though--favorite one! (The idea of it)

This is such a...lackluster version of my original post. :/

I love the three way battle.  I didn't even know we could do that.

Also, I'd like to reiterate the call for unique sprites for Ilya and Schaefer.  Much like Kalas said above me, it helps you attach an emotion to the character.  I think about Algus in this regard.  If he had just been a generic sprite, my hate and ire for him would probably be dulled, as I wouldn't be able to pin him down to just that one smug look.

Chapter 1 spoiler:
My biggest peeve so far has been the turn of Schaefer. Why did Gospel decide he didn't need him? In fact Gospel didn't even say he didn't need him. Schaefer just apparently saw it on Gospel's face and reacted. It was a poor tactical move on Gospel's behalf as well.  You don't dismiss teammates while storming a castle.  Anywho, there needs to be a little more exposition on this point, and perhaps a little more foreshadowing.  Maybe if Schaefer has a conversation with Gospel before this about regretting killing his former colleagues (and Gospel has a problem with this)

Also, good job on the custom map.  It's a bit grainy, but good job!

Gospel dismissed Schaefer from his party because thought Schaefer was a liability after admitting the truth to Barinten as to who they were, but more importantly, because he charged in battle foolishly against the guards in Lesial's castle who were holding Gospel's followers captive. As for your comment about how you shouldn't boot comrades (Schaefer) out of your party while raiding a stronghold, I have to disagree with that. If I were Gospel, I can't worry about Schaefer's safety whilst I'm in the middle of fighting since that will only break my concentration in a life and death moment. Someone who's only distracting me when I'm trying to complete a mission I wouldn't want on my team, but that's just me.

Wiz, I just watched your commentary of Chapter One.  Umm, either my patching was bad or Chapter One got messed up when Part II came out, because in my playtrhough, Gospel did not a say a dang thing during that scene.  But in your commentary, he had plenty to say, which clears up everything.  I'm gonna play through Chapter One again to see if it goofs again.
Title: Re: Suggestion Box/Comment box
Post by: Kuraudo Sutoraifu on October 24, 2011, 09:15:51 am
Well, I've yet to start over to see if that part is still bugged, but I did finish Chapter II.  I had a lot of trouble getting the other two team to fight each other in Sweegy Woods, but once I figured out how to do it, the battle got much, much easier.  After that point, the rest of the chapter felt like a breeze.

I'm trying to decide if Reckoning is overpowered.  Only one of my characters seemed to do much damage with it, but when 4 out of my five character were using it, all I had to do was run away while casting Reckoning.  This strategy would just chip at them, but kiting was rather effective.  It makes using Lightning Stab and Judgment obsolete.

Also, Steal is a phenomenal skillset.  Steal Armor often does more damage than attacking.  Poison bomb is almost a necessity for high HP monster encounters, and whatever the skill is that adds Don't Move (Blowdart, maybe?) is a must for the Move HP-Up encounters.

One suggestion I have for the three way battle is that the two guest knights need to start with equipment that does not give them perma-slow.  They get double turned by two teams before they get to do anything.  Maybe that was part of the challenge, but it was hella annoying.

P.S. I love what you did with the Tonberry.  1 move, plus super speed, plus hyper-lethality was awesome.
