Completed Mods / Re: Auto-SCC Patch

Characters will still join the party as normal... but will be in the SCC job, and cannot be changed out of it.  This applies to special characters as well as generics!  Monsters can join the party, but will not create eggs and cannot be fielded in battles.

How does this affect the actual battles? For example, in that particular instance, is Agrias a Geomancer during the actual Bariaus Valley fight or is she forced that way after?

There are also a few scattered changes:
Gafgarion at Zirekile doesn't load from the party
Rubber Shoes become available in Chapter 3
"Defeat Dycedarg!" at Igros Chapter 4

Strange change for the Rubber Shoes. It's not terribly important but it does change the fight At the Gate of Lionel Castle. Why change it?

The "crits always do bonus damage" business is also a little strange to me. I'm for quality of life changes but anything that shakes the foundation of the game, even if it's only a little, makes the challenge slightly different from the original. Of course, if that was your goal, this is a solid patch through and through, and may be worth a try one day.

Quote from: "Jon"Hmmm, I wonder how Ramza in Delita armor would look if the armor was not gold but maybe a silverish color?? I mean in the whole game, I don't think any character actually wears silver colored armor (which technically in real life is far more common than something made entirely out of gold haha), and also, I only suggested you change the red tunic because it is Delita's color, but yeah, Ramza looks alright in it too I guess...

I played with that idea in the past. It didn't come out too bad.

That's not an easter egg. That's your reward for beating the level under 30 seconds.

It still exists in Sonic 2.

Now the REAL easter egg is that large sum of points you get if you beat the level at 9:59

EDIT: Nevermind, that point was already addressed.

I suppose ASM could fix that... maybe. And I'm gonna guess the HP values are an example because even a Rod could break that 9HP gate.

I took a crack at your concept, using more "Ramza-esque" colors, so to speak. This is 15 colors but I did the coloring rather sloppily, so if I wanted to pursue this further I'd have to change up a few things. His armor strikes me as more crystal than metal here, however... kind of like Soul Calibur 4's Siegfried.

The back views look kind of strange, and is it just me or do some of the sprites look misaligned?

As far as I can remember, Balk was a machinist in Goug who was "blacklisted" for something...

A shady machinist that used to work with/for Besrodio? It's possible. Balk is kind of a random villain to begin with so he could have something.

FF8, hm.. Well, I didn't HATE it. But the battle system is too cut and dry, like FF7s. When it came down to it the best people to use were based on the best Limit Breaks [So basically, Squall because you have no choice, Irvine for Shot, and Zell for stupid broken Duel]. Magic is indeed crap, but there was still Meltdown that made things even more rape for the bosses. There's no diversity in skills because everyone has everything, and it's possible to get Lionheart in Disc 1 [is it possible in any FF besides this one to get the final weapon in the beginning?]. Of course, you don't HAVE to break the game, but the fact is that you have the option to, and playing Triple Triad isn't very hard at all.

As for the story, it could've been fine, but it was written poorly. The "plot twist" at the basketball court, for example.
"Hey, did you know that (spoiler)?"
"Woah, I remember!"

Same with the Squall and Rinoa story.... well, you'll see. I don't think you should stop playing.. because you might like it. It could end up being some sort of acquired taste. But if you're expecting an RPG made of gold, then you might be disappointed.

Good to see you as well, LD.

Forget about this place? It's kind of hard to. Despite a few bumps here and there, this is probably my favorite game hacking community, although being here since the beginning kinda helps my attachment =). I just lurk really, really bad... The 4th registered member only has 26 posts =O. But I've been keeping a careful eye on Mercenaries (which is turning out excellent, BTW) and FFT Remix. I'm also aware of the increasing artistic ability in the sprites section and the advancement of coding knowledge with the advent of new ASM hacks. Things are just looking sweet overall.

This is from ages ago when ranks were still used.

"Forum: General   Posted: Sat Sep 29, 2007 11:01 pm   Subject: Rankssss
Do ranks even matter? You can tell if someone has contributed or not if you could identify who they are, not by their post-count. If anything, it's possible to just remove them as a whole."

Ironically enough, the most I've contributed is the "Battle Graphics" sticky, which has become useless due to the death of that webpage.

So I suppose you can edit how much temp. Br/Fa is needed for 1 perm. Br/Fa as well?

As in 30 Temp = 1 Perm instead of 4=1?

Regardless, what a find indeed.

Well, the only reason I would see is to have multiplayer... and porting that particular feature doesn't sound like an easy feat. I'm wondering how much space the cutscenes take? The animated ones, I mean.

As a person who did SSCCs involving classes immune to Treasure/Crystal, the unit will never die, just lie there. However, every time the person is supposed to crystallize, the camera just pans at the corpse for a second and goes to the person who has their next turn. Every time this happens, it counts as a casualty in the Brave Story.

I do not know what happens if these immunities are placed on an undead. But if I had to guess, I would say there's a 50% chance of reanimation and a 50% chance of the camera just panning to them, counting up a casualty.
