I've been making a true crap load of portraits lately and will keep making, it seems.

I'll try to save an instance every big step or something and post it all here. I leave plenty of process pixels everytime I make portraits, so I should dump those here as well.

Most epic sprite request ever.

The Lounge / Tales of Phantasia: patch release
December 31, 2012, 04:23:58 pm
http://tales-cless.org/

After almost a decade of work, Cless, the lead on the project, has announced that an english patch for the PSX version of Tales of Phantasia will be released today. This might not be the most epic, but certainly the most persistent effort of a modding/translation project I have ever heard of. I would personally appreciate any support you could show Cless and the Phantasian Productions site by trying out the patch.

Note that I have no personal involvement in this patch, but have simply been a long time fan who has been impressed by the work done on this project.

Congratulations to all the participants and a special thank you to Celdia for hosting a great contest! I really enjoyed getting to participate for once.

Looking good Choto, I'm a huge X-Men fan! Your color ramps could look a bit better, steal from existing sprites. Also, your zoomed version is wonky it isn't exactly x2 and is stretched wide and doesn't do the actual sprite justice.

As for Squall that all sounds correct to me Jimmy, the Japanese portrait was the one I was thinking of.

As for Goku, thanks! Now that I have the base I'm considering doing a series of entries or maybe even some kind of animation. Is the hair looking okay, that alone took more time the entire rest of the sprite?

Name: Goku

There is a whole thread for this sprite I believe, I know I did some work on getting this sprite on an actual sheet. There is also another, probably better, portrait as well.

New Project Ideas / Re: FFT: Fill the gap

This is basically Mercenaries, but that patch was so popular because it was a great idea and it is dead so it is fine to base a new patch off the same idea. But this would not be a "small patch". Anything with new story, events, and such gets very very big very quickly.

I look forward to what you can come up with Elric, good luck.

(Randomly checks on FFH)

Elric: Your event edits have been looking amazing and from your Pokemon event it even looks like you are implementing some choice conditionals. If you want to put this even together that would be great. The last version of the event script is good to go, and there will likely only be some small text edits done in the future.

I am by no means ready to start putting much of my time into this project. But it would be great to see more work getting done slowly and building interest in the project.

I'm also playing Borderlands coop online with my bud. Seems like multiplayer Fallout 3 to me, so awesome. The graphics are quite pleasant and collecting random loot is always so fun. I also like that so many resources are easily shared between players.

I finally beat Tactics Ogre PSP and Odin Sphere about 5 days apart after playing them both for the past 6 months. Both great games, I have essentially said all the great stuff I can about these games. Getting through the final boss battles in both games was pretty hard, but rewarding.

My new routine is to not buy any new games until I have beat a game I already have. So after 6 months of no new games I bought Rochard off of PSN and beat it in a few days. Great little game, I enjoyed the gameplay and story. Don't overlook it if you like 2D platformer/adventure/puzzler type games. The music was also great, despite it's sparse presence.

The wife and I have been playing Zelda: Skyward Sword. It has been slow going and it was driving me nuts last night, so I'm going to hold off on giving opinions until I'm in a better mood.

I also got Assassins Creed: Brotherhood for Christmas. The series is just nice and regular and hasn't disappointed yet. The story makes running around on rooftops fulfilling enough to keep pressing forward. That and I get obsessive with collecting in that game.

Nice site, and I appreciate your inclusion of our hacks. For the record, your comments on FFT:Complete are spot on.

I believe their HD portraits were just run through a filter. Your hand done ones are at least generally better Kage. I still would like these all ripped so we could use them as avatars.

Help! / Re: iPhone Save Files
December 21, 2011, 02:57:00 pm
Yes, I would recommend googling Lioneditor (or we might have it in our download section). It is a psp FFT savefile editor. Also, I major contribution you could make is to rip the HD portraits from the newly updated version of the iOS FFT.

It's easy to just do private chats when you want to get serious. I would just keep it as one. The only thing I would want is to be able to invite more than one other person into a private chat.

Help! / Re: Map editing woes
November 21, 2011, 11:06:38 pm
What about the actual dimensions of the map, have you change that? Where you define how many by how many actual squares the map space is.

If I remember correctly, the world debug codes just extend the number of options in menus and reassign what those new options point to. It will be easy to do.
