I'm with Neophyte on this one. The big question I'm asking myself is: What's wrong with the current ones? The only one I've really disliked is the female Mime (it looks like a white fox, wtf) but other than that, I'd rather have a flawless patch to begin with than a cool buggy one.

Liking the tourney so far, even though I'm having a bit of a hard time following all the changes that's been made.
I got to agree with Wiz though, Masamune seems a bit broken at the moment where 100% haste and regen makes Time Magic pretty useless. Maybe if Masamune would give 100% haste or regen like in 1.3 it would be better.

Also my tip for this season's winner:

Finally finished Adramelk. What a sucker.

The problem with this fight (just like it was in 1.3) has always been that the first part favors one setup while the other favors totally another, which is not really the case with Velius. However, thanks to one big helpful tip I managed to break this down using a setup like this:

Ramza - Knight /w steal (I really wanted that rifle in the beginning, CBA to poach...)
Beowulf - Templar /w white magic (my healer)
Agrias - Holy Knight /w punch art
Meliadoul - Divine Knight /w yin yang
Worker 8 (aka THE BEAST)

First you might think "What? No Orlandu?" but the reason I brought Agrias and Meliadoul instead is because they can equip something he can't, which is Ribbons. Because of that and Defense Rings on Ramza and Beo, the only ones susceptible to any status ailments was the two latter and because of my damage output, he mostly spent his time casting Golem which is totally according to my plan, since Dispose and sword techniques all bypass that. The only problem was I only had one resser (which meant if Beo died, I was ******) and I really had to get the magic breaks in on Dycedarg in the beginning or he would start breaking my stuff. But other than that, most of it worked and I was actually quite pleased.

Now onto Murond!

Wow. Zalera was a total ******* *****. This fight was stupidly easy in vanilla, pretty annoying but not very hard in 1.3 (or I was just very lucky). However this version had me banging my head against the wall. One time I wiped because I failed a 99% Areiz, that was incredibly frustrating but it tells how close it really was. The biggest problem with the fight was Zalera casting those huge spells which could hit 2-3 people any given time while I was busy killing everything else. In fact I was happy when he started doing Zombiega or something because that actually gave me breathing room to do something else besides ressing and healing people.

Now it's time for Adramelk and I remember how insanely hard that idiot was in 1.3. Just hope I'll kick him so hard in the groin this time that I'll forget that other version.

A possible bug discovery regarding the Katanas breaking (when they shouldn't).

I remember casting Asura ONCE during a fight and I only had one in my bags and I clearly remember it not saying "broken" after the cast, yet it was gone after the fight. I'll do some more testing later but either A) they always break after a cast, regardless or B) the randomness still occurs behind the scenes, but it doesn't say whether it broke or not.

Oh, and as for krilz...

Did you win the battle?

Yes, it was pretty much a breeze with a 15-speed Ramza chugging away on Velius for 300 per hit and the demons only doing around 50-80 damage per Gigaflare/Dark Holy. As long as I had the rest of my crew killing one or two demons a turn, Velius would never cast Lich or Corruption.

I had similar problems with the fight where I would kill the demons repeatedly yet Velius would spam Awakening all day long. Instead of my tactic which was a buffed up Ramza killing the demons and my generics handling Velius, I switched it around.

Ramza - Mercenary with Blood Sword (important!)
Agrias - Knight with MA break
Mustadio - Engineer with MA break
Rad - Oracle/White Magic
Boco

Everyone has MagDefUP.

Ramza starts against Wiegraf where I buff him up to about 20-25 PA and with speed save until I have 15 or so (more is not needed).

When the second part starts, Ramza will start pummeling on Velius as much as he can. Because of the Blood Sword and his speed, it doesn't matter to much if he gets hit by damage split as he'll easily heal himself up in no time.
Meanwhile, Agrias and Mustadio are busy reducing the MA of the demons. This allows me to let them cast freely and pretty much ignore them if I want. Rad and Boco are busy healing people. Rad has Oracle because I didn't want him to run out of MP which is why I also brought Boco.

My levels were around 35-ish.

What are the requirements for performer? Unable to find that information (or any job requirements for that matter) anywhere here on the forums.

Malak seem to be unable to hit anyone in melee range at the Entrance of Riovanes Castle when he has a weapon. He just ran around casting his stuff and when he ran out of MP he ran to whoever was the most suitable target and just stood there. When I stole the Zorlin Shape from him, he started to actually hit people.

No, Katanas do not break in FFT: Plus :-)

Doesn't seem to apply, or something weird happened. I used Koetetsu once in a battle (I only had one in the bags) and then a couple of rounds later I noticed that it was gone. So either I misplaced it during the fight or it broke :/

As a sidenote: Any tip on how to make some cash? (besides Propositions) I'm noticing I'm really low on cash all through the game and it's bugging me out whenever I got an heavy armor broken/stolen by pesky thieves or knights >_<

I remember the vanilla version of Queklain as pretty simple. Sure, Loss was annoying, but other than that, you just had to pummel him and he'd go down easily.

The 1.3 version was brutal. I had to pretty much equip every single person with Magic DefendUP and Auto Potion to survive the barrage of damage coming my way. And that was even after breaking his stats to oblivion.

This version is closer to the vanilla. Just very annoying and Decay really threw me off. I read somewhere that Boco was your saving grace and I can't believe how helpful that info was. Removing undead on several people simultaneously has never been a bigger help. In retrospect I think I had one breaker too many (Mustadio, I'm looking at you) as the only real damage I could do to him was through magic and I only had one guy for that (Boco was pretty good too but he was on another duty). Maybe for a later version you could remove DefendUP and up his HP a bit to compensate? Just to give more options of what type of damage you'd like to do.

On to chapter 3!

Of course, my physical attackers are all getting it, but as for casters I'd rather choose between Magic AttackUP and Short Charge than Precision :/

Right you are! Chose not to save Algus (the motherfu...) and saved Boco but still haven't gotten a single extra point of brave. Killed Algus before his third turn so didn't notice any difference there but oh well.

So far liking this patch very much! It provides a challenge, but not so blatantly much that it's frustrating. Although there are those rare occasions where I seem to miss every attack for a turn (even with 95% hit) and the enemies all land their attacks.

Alright, another question which I couldn't find an answer too: Is it possible to raise your brave permanently?

Hey, what's up, I'm back again and ready to test out this patch which seems awesome from what I've read so far. However one thing I haven't found an answer to yet is if all the item locations are unchanged, such as where to get the Genji equipment, the DD items, the Nelveska ones etc.

I hate to be that guy but...
I find it odd that AeroGP's summoner didn't use Kiku once; especially after seeing round 2 where Gaignun's wizard advances and does Kiku right off the bat but when the summoner gets to move she does nothing (even though she's in Kiku range of the ninja). Did she actually have Kiku enabled or am I missing something? Anyway, I don't think it would've made a huge difference to be honest. AeroGP's damage wasn't on par and what clinched it was the lancer going on sandbagging duty when he had the most power.

Big gratulations to Gaignun also, I rooted for that guy ever since I saw him being 2v4 against Odal, yet still coming back and winning.

I firmly believe that hadn't Aquilae been so unlucky to get his priest Sleep'd in round 1 and killed right away in round 2 it would've been much closer since what clinched it was basically that the 2-swords knight had to run around ressurecting her instead of wreaking havoc.

Gl in the finals, AeroGP!

GG Odal, those tanky knights were just too much.

No, life song is not on his list, but that didn't cause the bard to play stupid and ignore the frog2 ability.  (It probably was a mistake to give him angel song with how much good it did in the matches.)  I think the bad compats did that; the AI must have decided it wasnt worth it?  Either way, no rematch needed.  This was a team that lived and died by the bard; it's fitting that they died when he didnt/couldnt cast the spell.  Hell, he couldnt even frog himself when he got the chance.

Also, we may want to consider banning frog2 if there is another tourney.  Since there is only one item in the game that guards against frog status.  Yes, there is esuna, frog, and item to remove the status, but multiple frogs in one turn is just too much for any team to come back from.

I think that's a bit of overkill. Frog2 is a notable two-edged sword because it can backfire and frogs can use it to their advantage to turn back, not to mention actually landing with the thing. It is however an ultimate weapon if you manage to get the entire opponents team frogged in one cast, but the possibility of that happening is miniscule, at best.

Wow @ the Sacred in round 2. Almost came back there with the Meatbone slashes. However, what clinched it was pokeytax's ninja getting killed early. As long as he's alive, his team is a lot stronger than you'd think.

What clinched it for Dol I think was Jansporteds casters being retarded and getting themselves midcharged constantly, otherwise he had the upper hand all along, although the thief is a lot stronger on bigger maps where she can run around and use the ranged of throw at the greatest advantage.

The more I watch Frog2-play the more I think of it as a "risky gamble". Either it works out really good or it loses you games (like backfiring or never hits). This time however it would really well, but I find it interesting that most teams don't seem to have easy access to Remedy/Esuna or the AI is just acting retarded and doesn't use it.

Wow. ThrowAway's team is just raping when Frog2 does the job.

Some criticism on FDC's videos:

* The palettes are still not fixed. I may have missed why they're not there in the first place, but it's really confusing following some matches in close combat when the teams use the same jobs and have the same colors. I expected this to be fixed after watching the first matches, but it still hasn't which I find troubling.
* The mic recording is really not up too par compared with the other commentators which makes a bit bothersome to listen to. Compare this to that there is also no background music, it makes it a somewhat dull experience compared to the other commentators.
* You say "ok" a lot. Once I hung up on this, I can't get it out of my head and it gets annoying. It's a common mistake among people giving speeches that they use a phrase too often and it makes it hard to listen too.
* You lose track quite often of what you're talking about. One minute you could give a good rant about why one of the teams is going to win this and then immediately shift to something completely else ("ok, he's down") and then get back on track. In one of your videos I remember you talked a lot of about the effects of Frog2 (or something the like) and it went on for about one and half minute because you kept interrupting yourself.

Add all this together and I'm very close to just turning the sound off and watching them without commentary. Now I'm not saying this to bash on you, I'm really not, but I felt it needed to be said to improve your commentary and I hope you'll take this as constructive feedback.
