From this website:

I picked it up so that I can check out the effect of levels on the Elmdor battle in Limberry. I want to know where levels are stored in the Hex Editor so that I can edit them when I get there. Help me get started?

What the hell? FFTastic won't open. I'm using Vista if that's an issue.

It says:

"FFTastic, GME Editor has stopped working." Then the standard Windows can find a solution online, but it finds nothing. Should I delete and redownload?

Deleted and downloaded it again. Same results.

Once I've converted my game file to .gme, do I just put that in the same folder as FFTastic.exe and it's supposed to work fine?

Because I have the same error as dokurider.  All I did was dowload the two programs, convert my .bin memcard to .gme, move it into the FFTastic folder, and try to run FFTastic.  But it doesn't work...

What files do you have in that same folder?  Mine has just clf.dew and config.dew that generate the first time it tries to start up.

EDIT: I ran as an administrator and, guess what?  It works fine...  FALSE ALARM!

But yeah doku: if you still are needing this try running it as an administrator if your comp will let you
I changed jobs and that has made all the difference.

UPDATE!

I FINALLY GOT FFTASTIC TO WORK! HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!1!

Seriously, it was awesome. I have no idea how I fixed it, but here's what I did.

After some google searching, I determined that I needed to try to run FFTastic in Safe Mode to see if it there's a program interferring with FFTastic or if it's FFTastic itself. So I'm running Safe Mode and I run FFTastic and it works, proving that FFTastic does indeed work. So I write down all of the processes running and I prepare myself to play Computer Detective and try to find out what's interferring with FFTastic's startup. So I restart the computer and write down all of the processes that were running and cross-referenced them with the processes that were running when FFTastic was running properly. Before I start downing processes, I decide to confirm that FFTastic is indeed not working. I run it...and it works? WTF? I exit and try again. It still works. My mouth is hanging open. I can't believe it. I don't know how it did it, but somehow Safe Mode fixed FFTastic. I have no idea why this worked, but I'm just glad it did.

Thanks for the help, guys.

Have you tried this?

Anyway, it seems that you got it to work, so..
That's good. :)
