I just wanted to pop in and say that I don't agree with the connotations floating around here that "Ovelia deserved her death", as I feel that's too extreme and goes too far with "apologizing" for what is ultimately a tragic scene.

Also, Merry Christmas!

But, Zelda is in Ch1 :o That wouldn't make a lot of sense lol

In fact, aren't the stranger and Zelda on screen together at one point, albeit temporarily?

Nice!

Yep! :D

Makes you wonder exactly what's going on? Love seeing them together, though.

Pandemonium i love that sentence you wrote "Personally i still see Delita as Ramza best friend"

I feel you so much about that.

My dream in this patch is that Delita and Ramza Join forces again to fight a stronger opponent :_:

That would make me cry of joy

Glad to see I'm not the only one who feels this way regarding Delita and Ramza's friendship.

All of the treasure items you would get from propositions were originally supposed to do something I think. Like the materia you get was supposed to strengthen magic so on and so forth. Its great that this team is very knowledgeable about the game and take the time to put in the extras that the original developers left out.

This is hardly a mod and more of an original work that vastly surpasses the original in terms of gameplay.

Actually, there was 5 Novels in game, one of which was the scriptures, which was the only one we got, as it actually has to do with the story of FFT unlike the others. However, these work on much much more of a choose your own adventure style, whereas the scriptures were linear.

I've never heard anything to confirm that, however it doesn't seem to unlikely that this may have originally been the intention before deadlines hit for square. It seems like a real cool idea. Though I cannot say currently how many treasures we will use in Jot5 aside from the books.

Thank you for all the kind words everyone, I'm currently working on the 3rd of 4 Sound Novels, however this one will take a bit longer since it was never make avaliable in tactext format, so I'm working off the very old HTML that Heian (DuranBubba) did many years ago. This makes it a much more difficult task than the last 2, however, it will be done non the less :D

We intend to allow unlocking 1 per chapter, assuming the 4th one is translated by the time we work on Chapter 4 :P

Woah! I did not know these things. Thanks guys! :D

For those wondering on progress.

You must understand that the way we are doing things now is different from before. Our goal is to have nearly EVERYTHING done for the entire game by the time the re-release comes out, asside from events. This makes it easier to make future releases as all that will remain for future chapters is the making of the events. (asside from whatever small things need adjusting and such).

Our -goal- is to have the re-release out near the end of this year, no promises, but it is looking in our favor.

Well then, keep up the wonderful work, all of you! :)

You know, this kinda reminds of the Gerimonique Scriptures.

I had always wondered why they were so unique an item with such an unique mechanic in the game.
27
Woah. Did not know that.

That outta be real nice. :)

Yeah Izlude and Zalbag really got shafted.

Yeah. Those are a couple of things about Final Fantasy Tactics that I think about "what could have been?" when I look back on them.

Those enemies are placeholders lol, there won't be that many lol

Here, because you asked so nicely, I grabbed a couple screencaps from my current savestates, though some of these are pre-format and fixes...

Thanks for these, Elric! I really appreciate it! :D

It's amazing how much fun you can have just looking at pictures. <3

Heh, my bad.

Elric showed the guy that picture but I'm the one who made the event! I only made about 4 (?) for chapter 2, but I'll do more in ch3 / 4.

Ah, I see.

Yeah, my recollection was a bit fuzzy on that point.

That battle's gonna be toughie, isn't it?

Except it's not. Zalbag is dead as fuck :P

Speaking of, he was another character that I felt kinda got shorted. It wasn't as bad as Izlude (not even remotely), but I still felt it was all a bit abrupt.

I understand why it happened, but even still...

Bum a couple screenshots?

Yes they will be in jot5.

"Bum" in this case more or less means "beg".

No. They aren't part of JOT5?

It's been awhile, so I was hoping to bum a couple of screenshots from you.

Neato! Thanks for the screenshots. They always get me excited! :)

I don't suppose you could spare a couple more?

Speaking of Izlude, I always felt he got the short end of the stick.

It would have been nice if the game didn't off him like it did, or if the story of the stones more favored him by giving him a the power of a "good" stone, or something like that.

Maybe I just feel sorry for him. :( He seemed like a cool character otherwise.

That, or people tried to rush to advanced Jobs without setting up some characters as any of the second-tier ones. Knight and Priest are amazing support Jobs, and even if they are early tier, they're worth having some of your characters Master instead of trying to advance onward.

Now that you mention it, I do recall some players rushing to advanced jobs being a thing (and before proper weapons for them even became a available, even).

I mean, of course, it is their choice, but you end up missing out on so many experiences as a player doing so.

I think I have mentioned this beforehand, but I always loved Invigorate. It's so nice and convenient, but simple nonetheless, and I appreciated having access to Re-raise and lite MP restoration so early on.

I can't recall its name, but I also like the Knight's "Make nearby allies + user take up a Parry Stance" skill. These abilities definitely increased the overall usefulness of Knights by quite a margin.

I mentioned how I liked having these as options and having them make really real differences so easily and early. You would never realize how useful they can be if/when they are so hard to use under normal circumstances, so I loved how you guys brought such abilities to light as you did.

A lot of some people's possible hardships may have stemmed from the lack of usage of these abilities that they may have deemed "inconsequential". (After all, it was noted that maybe too many players were choosing to stick to the default classes as opposed to branching out, likely making things harder on themselves in the long run.)
