Yes, they will be blocked, but can be seen when the player chooses something in the menu.
I see no problem with that, since the original backdrops doesn't care, too.

I think a backwards facing plume would be interesting. Also maybe have a strip of cloth coming out of the nob. Like a small banner or something.
