Title: FFT 1.3028 with vanilla fights
Post by: Dome on August 16, 2009, 07:04:16 am
FFT 1.3028 with vanilla fights (http://www.mediafire.com/?cz5xc8jhdakqbzx)
Just as the name says...FFT 1.3028 version with Vanilla fights
P.s: The file is a .pff, but it's a typo...it's a ppf file

I remembered some guy brought this up some time ago en the 1.3 board, and I was very interested. Quite a coincidence you brought this up today XD

This is supposed to be exactly 1.3 (items, abilities, text, etc) but with all the vanilla fights right? A 1.3 to play relaxed challenges or just a story playthrough without worrying too much on multipliers and growths... just what I was looking for ^^

I'll DL it and I'll notice you here if I see something weird. Good luck with that Another Tale project! :)

What *I'd* like would be an even more split up patch. There are some changes in 1.3 I'd want in my own hack and some I wouldn't.

Oh well. Easy enough to piece such a thing together myself, it'd just be tedious.

I got an error message when I opened it D:<

Thought it was a PPF. How do you patch a .fftpatch? I renamed it to ppf and tried but ppfomatic won't let me.

EDIT: tried to do it with fftpatcher but got an error D:

.fftpatch files can only be opened with FFTPatcher. I got the same error message as you, I believe.

Dome, can you upload this as a .zip file? That's probably what the problem is. Some files corrupt when downloaded directly outside of a .zip file, like fonts and whatnot.

Ok guys, I re-uploaded it in a zip file
Tell me if it works...if it doesn't, we will take a "different" route...

Ps: This isn't a patched iso, this is a FFTPATCH file and it must be opened with FFTPatcher... File-->Open patch--->Patch ISO
Pps: This is based on 1.3028 and it wont implement the 1.3029 changes...

Doesn't work, at least to me >_<

Quoteit wont implement the 1.3029 changes
That's something I was gonna ask you, since 13029 is gonna implement some rather important re-balancing changes. It's fine by me if it's 13028 though.

Yeah, it doesn't work for me either. D:

The error message I'm receiving is "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately. Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, Position 1". And then a bunch of System.Xml mumbo jumbo.

Woah! Internet is being a bitch, IDK if I'll be able to DL 500MB.. if it finishes, I'll try it and tell you.

PS: isn't there any way to make that a PPF ? Maybe that way it'll work

I dont know...
I never had to post a patch before, so I'm not skilled in it...

I can try to make another .fftpatch and enclose it in a .zip file. The only problem is, I don't know what animations Voldemort used for stuff like the crossbows and whatnot.

Omg...I'm testing it right now and ALL the text changes are gone...
It's going to be insane...

I can make a ppf without the entds if you want...

It would be a great help FFmaster...
I wanted a 1.3 with enemy stat and battles like vanilla...
Now I have it without the text edits...

Thanks a lot FFMaster!
Now, I only need to revert all the changes done to the enemy jobs and I will have a vanilla patch with 1.3 items and ability...right?

Enemy jobs and skillsets, yes.

Re-patch the iso with fftpatcher with these changes, then create another ppf.  This'll retain all the text edits and ASM hacks as well.

Edit:  You're probably better off cutting out the middle man and simply applying the original posted patcher file to the current 1.3 iso and then making a ppf that way.

How do I create pdf?

I use PPF Studio 1.01

I think I figured out the problem with the whole .fftpatch files not working. You need to upload the .digest file that comes with it when you save it, I think. I opened one after moving the .digest file to another folder and I got the same error as when I downloaded the 1.3 .fftpatch file.

the problem is that the "balance" changes and the boss stats / skillsets are in the same file (SCUS)

so you have to edit every enemy and boss job manually, as well as their skillsets, and whatever enemy-only skill needs to go, too

The time is not a problem
I want to see my patch completed and I will do whatever is needed in order to complete it
Of course I will need a lot of help/hint because I'm not skilled at all in hacking...
But editing the jobs and skillsets is easy with FFTPatcher  :)

I finished the work
Now it seems to work perfectly
- 1.3028 Balance to items - jobs - ability
- Vanilla fight and boss stat
Updated the first post
This should be the final version...please download it and let me know if everything works, so I can start to work on another tale patch!

Let me check if I got this right:

What FFMaster posted is 1.3 but without the fights added / changed in 1.3
What Dome posted now is the same, and also the bosses have vanilla stats and abilities? As in Gafgarion not having innate concentrate, or all the bosses not having DU and MDU, and their reaction abilities changed back to counter and such?
Title:
Post by: Dome on August 18, 2009, 12:45:40 pm
In FFMaster one there are no changes to ENTD (But the boss stats are from 1.3, boss have all innate DUP and MDUP...for example Gaff will be at fixed level but with innate concentrate)
Mine it's like vanilla with 1.3 items and ability (So, for example, Gaff is a fixed level with shitty stat and no concentrate)

Some feedback about this patch? It works fine?
If it works fine I can start to work for my patch "FFT another tale"

Just curious, will this patch include the 1 on 1 fight againts vormav?
Title:
Post by: Dome on October 16, 2009, 01:57:49 pm
It should, because it's based on FFT 1.3028
Title:
Post by: Sephirot24 on October 16, 2009, 02:27:51 pm
But if you used the patch FFMaster made and that one didn't have the ENTDs... won't that battle disappear?
I really don't know anything about hacking, but I thought all the battles' data was stored in ENTD =/

I truly dunno, I'm not very skilled in hacking too xD
Title:
Post by: philsov on October 16, 2009, 03:08:58 pm
all battle data is stored in the entd.  but the vormav 1v1 is an event, that simply loads the vormav from the entd.  So the battle will still happen... but vormav is probably party level random with no equips, or whatever his default is.

The file extension says pff not ppf.(typo maybe?)  Anway all I need to do is patch this to a clean ISO and all set right? I'm going to try it out his afternoon and let you know.
