My first sprite is complete, It was a recolor of the oracle with Kletian's head.
My second sprite is mostly complete, a recolor of the dragoon with Izlude's head.
For Balk, I plan to either use mustadio or the chemist.

I plan to make things like this for the rest of the Shrine Knights.

Currently working on: Balk

The portrait's got some strange coloring, especially on the hair. Trying to get many colors on a portrait is tough (a red shirt, dark jacket, yellow collar, brown hair, tan skin) so be aware that some sacrifices will need to be made to get it looking proper. You may not have the red shirt, but you'll have nicer hair. As for the sprite, the clothes look okay, but the hair looks warped. Perhaps it's the manner in which it was shaded...

For the portrait I used the color spots for the original white robe to make the yellow and red colors. A lot of the yellow is the same shade as some of the skin. I still have all of Kletean's original hair colors, I'll try to make it look more natural.

For the sprite's hair, can you be more specific as to how the hair looks warped? I tried to follow the hair in the magic knight's sprite as closely as possible. Maybe it's the colors I am using. Should I try lighter colors?

I took a look at the sprite with Kletian's hair color, then Delita's hair color, and it just didn't look right for me. Therefore, I think it may be the hairstyle that's causing the problems.

Should I just use a different hairstyle then?

I was thinking Kletean's might work, I don't like the way it looks as much though, It work's better with Kletean's colors, I'll try that next.

I also did a little work with the portrait.

Post your sprites blown up 3x times, so we could say more about it.

Here it is with Kletean's hair colors. Looks much better to me, but the old hair was the same color as some of the shadowing, so I had to mess around with that a little.

How do I post at 3X? Ive been meaning to ask that.

Assuming you have MS Paint, open the file, hit "Edit", then "Select All", right click on the image, hit "Resize/Skew..." and type in 200% for horizontal and vertical or 300%. Generally 200% is fine...

As for the sprite, the face looks like it's lost a significant amount of detail. And it doesn't match up with Kletian's all that well...I dunno what else to say.

I hadn't been using Kletian's face... Thanks for bringing that up, this one looks better.

EDIT: The shoulders on the front face didn't look right, changed them a little.

in the first 2 angles there iss red under the yellow line on the robe and on the last there isnt. In the first view, the red on the bottom of the robe seems to curve way up until it goes under his arm and it shouldnt. Use more of the dark red for the leg inside the robe and fix the hand/cuff area in the side-on view. Can't even see what's going on there

I worked on everything you said, Asmo. The hand/cuff is actually supposed to look that way, it's the same as the mystic sprite, it doesn't look quite right with my colors. I changed some pixels around.

Also, I don't have any darker reds than I used for the legs, so i just used more of the darkest I have, It looks more shadowed now.

Also, what does anyone think about the portrait? I still don't think I have the hair right.

EDIT: Here is a more updated version.

Portrait still needs work, but I like the progress you've made so far.
An interesting piece of work all around!
What inspired it?
We will build cities in a day, we will build towers to the heavens. We will be heroes.
This sleeping city doesn't know what's coming. She doesn't feel the heat.
Even when the darkness surrounds us, we shall light up the night.

What inspired it?

I think it looks like a SOUL LINKER.

For the portrait, I think it would be advisable if you stick with base portraits.

It started because I was looking around for a sprite to adjust and I saw the mystic, and I thought that it would be pretty cool without the stupid hat. So I mixed some colors up and tried different hairstyles on it.

In the direction it's going, it looks like it could be a young Kletian before he joined the oracle knights.

Here's the latest Portrait, I just can't get the hair right. Does anyone think they can fix the hair for me without destroying the current hairstyle?

Use the sprite's hair (which you based) portrait.
It might be a good start if you base it from Kletian.

It is based from Kletian.

EDIT: Here it is, much more "Kletian-ized", but still keeping my concept.

Ketian's head doesn't quite look right with the mystic shoulders in that portrait...

I see what you are saying, but I'd much rather make something original, If I really can't get it right I will do that though.
