Quote from: "LastingDawn"Well, I ported the first few events, then my carelessness broke my concentration and made a mess of things, there IS a beta line in WoTL which they cut out in the cutscene at the church. It's a rather snide remark by Delita.

Does anyone know how many such omissions were made from the official PSP script?  I have no qualm about filling in the blanks by translating from Japanese, but I'd like to have the official translation on hand for reference, too.  Can someone with a PSP rom dump these events for me by Friday, when I leave for Shanghai?

You're also going to China? You lucky, lucky man... maybe there you can find the original meaning of "The Magic". In any case you just need a "War of the Lions, Test.EVT" and that should have everything you need, if opened with the decompiler.
"Moment's anger can revert to joy,
sadness can be turned to delight.
A nation destroyed cannot be restored,
the dead brought back to life."

Question: Is the WOTL the best translation possible?

Probably not, but it sure is nifty! I'm sure there are a few typos in there somewhere! ^_^

Maybe we could have more space to have dialog, or maybe bigger battles?

Anyway, I doubt garbage text would increase the size of an ISO by 100mb, more likely code was cleaned up...  Or just compressed. xD

I was thinking more along the lines of overall feel and accuracy.  Like, for instance, was it intended in the original version for the characters to say "Tis" and "doth" a lot?

Oh yes... It was so Archaic in the original Japanese that in the text itself, there were parantheses explaining what some kanji meant!
"Moment's anger can revert to joy,
sadness can be turned to delight.
A nation destroyed cannot be restored,
the dead brought back to life."

^^^ Wow. I didn't know that. Though it does make sense.

I do want to point out that the word "doth" (which is an Early Modern English inflection of do) only appears once in the whole game.

"Me and you are caught up in the same flow... I'm just swimming against it." - Delita

"You and I are swept up in the same current that flows southwards ... I'm simply going against that flow." - Modified, Me

Just trying my hands at it. :P

Hmm... I'll give that line a try...

"You and I are swept up in the same current... I am simply swimming against it."
We will build cities in a day, we will build towers to the heavens. We will be heroes.
This sleeping city doesn't know what's coming. She doesn't feel the heat.
Even when the darkness surrounds us, we shall light up the night.

QuoteMe and you are caught up in the same flow... I'm just swimming against it.
What's wrong with that? Sure, "me and you" isn't grammatically correct there, but it's pretty common in natural conversation.

'Cause I picked it at random and just wanted to try something different. :P

"You and I" sounds more... regal and archaic than "you and me"
