Anyway, very lucky charms from Jansported, how many in a row was that the first match, four? Didn't really matter in the end that the archer's setup was wrong..but yeah..

Two down, a good start. Now the difficult section would begin in the dusty home, air heating up. Steps from the one with a shield were steady, he sure of upper body protection, and he was right. But Quint was a fast learner, the lesson from the past couple days that fights are different from spars. Most times there was no time for chivalry. Feeling the mood of their battle, Quint would wait for Shield to approach, keeping still on a side of the ladder. When his opponent would thrust forward, Quint sidestepped the stab, ducking underneath the ladder, putting it between the two. Shield refused to follow, stepping around towards Quint, soon finding himself in a game where Quint constantly kept the ladder in the middle, much to Shield's frustration. Before long he got frustrated enough to try and stab through the rungs of the stepladder, a costly mistake. Quint tried to block the attack with his clothed arm, but the dagger cut through flesh in a couple areas where the rag was too thin or missing, blood slowly trickling from the wound. Still, he was able to grab the offender's arm, pulling it down, elbow caught in a rung. From here it took only a little wrestling to pry the dagger from Shield, Quint acting surprised, pointing it at Shield.

"So what now?" Quint maybe was getting a little too cocky with two down, the leader just now prying his sword from the table. He was certainly stronger than the rest and that blade too sharp for the tatters around Quint's arm. Past Machete, that mage was his biggest priority, but after this long without acting.. Maybe he was scared of hitting friend along with foe? It also seemed that these struggles were bringing out a perhaps dormant side of Quint, since he was now sure that this group save the leader only knew the basics about fighting, one guy says no to their intimidation, then punches someone in the face and they're falling apart.

"Are you gonna keep fighting with toys, or are we gonna fight like men?" Half a boast, half strategy. He'd certainly have a better time of it if everyone was unarmed.

Small maps plus sleep missing multiple times was brutal. That draw out geomancer does big damage. Even with two sleeps in the second round the geomancer was enough to force sandbagging instead of offense, which shade lacked other than death sentence and antiphoenix down with the gunshots.

oh my god, ultra combo. i had noticed before that dacheat times that first turn attacking turn very well, tornado and two holys are perhaps completely in synch, leaving no chance to recover. didn't help that the two scholars had faith rods..

Xeno's team is cool, hard anti sand bag and chip damage with Iron Boots Lore. Like Dol said, a couple magic rings and black costumes slow this team down dramatically.

So much power, that's amazing. Plus it's almost like Celdia WANTS the ninjas to fall on their first turn, as the next phoenix down from the chemist throws the enemy ai to attack the critical ninja, who is then raise2'd by the time mage. Then both ninjas have their turns and are at full power. That's the beginning of the end.

One down, at least incapped, a good start. Though the leader looked pretty pissed, a serious problem with a sword already in the air. Quint's body would roll to the opposite side on the table, barely missed by the blade, it chopping deep into the wood.  In the brief intermission while the leader would again raise his machete, Quint darted to another end of the room where a ladder partially draped with a thick piece of cloth stood. Acting before the others was Blackjack, closing the distance in quick fashion, weapon high.

Finally, a favorable engagement. His first few swings were dodged by Quint, the dim light and tight space around the ladder assisting. But he wasn't so lucky with the next couple, catching them to the ribs. Sufficiently upset, he ducked out from the latest strike, Quint delivering his signature body blow, just below the solar plexus. It was here that Quint noticed how soft his opponent's chest was, nothing like the sparring partners in that crazy guy Fritz, the goblins, or even the other students back home. The way Blackjack doubled to the floor, gasping for air made it seem like these guys were more used to intimidating and robbing people than actually fighting them.

Quint would back off a couple paces, still keeping an inventory of his opponents, putting the cloth over his shoulder. Soon after it was wrapped around his left arm, preparing to use it as a sort of shield against the enemies' blades. Perhaps it couldn't take a direct stab, but deflecting one shouldn't be too difficult. It would also show he wasn't trying to really hurt anyone here, the enemy group easily able to hear Blackjack's impression of a fish out of water. Before there was another sharp edge looking for his face, "I didn't want to hurt him! The guy came after me, I didn't have a choice!"

"..And I don't want to hurt you either." His eyes fixed towards the leader. "But if you still want something I got.." Quint referenced loot in general, money or possessions. "Then you'll have to come and take it." He smirked then, a mischievous curl coming to his lips. If he couldn't punch or talk his way out of this paper bag, how would he even dream of taking down a dragon, let alone the king?

The white mage and scholar had good timing, the holy and Tornado hit back to back constantly, which made sure people died once they were targeted. A couple clutch Climhazzards put this away quickly. Does the AI not think about Projectile Guard when doing an attack with a long range weapon? Wondering why he kept going after the ninja constantly. Though I couldn't hear you, it was cool since I love Ken's theme.

Love love love mime teams, and that's just pregame.
BUT WAIT. Isn't Besrodio's House not supposed to have that gigantic thing in the middle anymore? Aren't we on the new new patch where weather effects are gone from some stages and that big globe thing isn't in this one?
But I like the mime team, using Quickening, Masa/Mura and Mad Science to great effect.

Quint would give a small struggle against the men's rummaging through his pockets but still gave up the note, his elbows now at head height. He wasn't fond of fighting without at least a 50-50 shot, but today would require flipping a lopsided coin. Though his spot looked bleak, with thieves in a tight circle around Quint, he gained one advantage: range. Perhaps the group's size gave them too much confidence, since at this immediate proximity those with blades would take longer than usual to get at the ready, and Quint's fists were always good to go.

He wouldn't have to wait long for his opportunity, a stunned silence gripping the room as the leader of bandits stammered the name of his comrade. His palms were sweaty, heart pumping to an excited pace, his nose flaring with a sudden rush of air. Throwing his right arm out, Quint striked at the one unsuspecting thief with a powerful elbow direct to the bridge of his nose. With a crack the man's nose started to gush blood, and he fell to the floor, suddenly more concerned with his leaky faucet. In a scramble Quint got over the kneeling thief, running his way to the far side of the room for anything to use. Not wanting to break his contact on the eyes of the men who were likely double pissed now, he paced backwards with a hand out, looking for a weapon when he bumped into a small table.

Though the enemy's morale probably rose after that cheap shot, Quint was now back in a favorable position, with the enemy having only one way to engage, from the front. Here it would be easier for him to strike, but an equal hindrance to the opposing force, who could engage only two or three at a time instead of all at once from every angle.

Quint would keep his nervous smile, taking a quick inventory of his captors. Seven in total, way too many to take out in an ambush, especially with the meek mage in the back keeping his distance. Beyond that there were enough blades in the group to discourage a sudden bull rush on the magic user, forcing him to stay put. The situation did look okay though, perhaps after a good explanation he could be thrown out with his head still attached.

Giving a few of the lesser members a quick glance, looking for nervousness or plain weakness, finding none. Seven vs one was good odds, and even those in the party who might have been more opportunists found bravery in their numbers. Quint's answer would be quick, but he'd add a bit of unnatural pausing, trying to appear as if he was just some guy in the wrong place at the wrong time. "I...f-found it. Was just lying on the ground near the city, and I took it." He'd raise one arm to scratch the back of his head, either a bad tell or genuine caution. "Didn't take jack though, couldn't even open the damn thing.."

For a team of mages, not much oomph in their spells. Didn't help that on the second map half of Dol's scholars split from the others.

Think that Kotetsu killed FOUR people, a new record! Holy crap, Draw Out Bards are sick nasty. What the hell was the scholar thinking? I'll heal myself and kill my friend with spells! That's an AI derp if I've never seen one..

Damn that's a lot of power out of FDC, but what else would you expect from a player of his caliber.

That's a crazy looking frog, what happened there? Since he was orange the palette for the frog was messed up? Other than that, fairly straight forward fight, that oracle landing many don't acts made this quick.

50
Wow that first map took ages with not a lot of damage anywhere, save that Grand Cross monk. And wow, that second map. With only two extra PA, the monks do way more damage, ending it in quick fashion.
51
..Very creative names, really..
Lotsa Don't Act, wow. Samurais had good damage, but spent more time either charmed or unable to act. Ninja got separated and that was the end. Second map was pretty much the exact opposite, with the thief getting displaced early, but now that the samurais didn't get DA'd early, that talk skill wrecked Pride's team.  Clutch ninja with time magic, that's crazy. Here on the third map everyone got lost in the wind early and was probably the reason it went on so long. Relative low damage from both teams also. 150-200 here from samurais, 200+ holys there, 27 wizanibus.. MVP certainly goes to the ninja, the stops, those silences all very clutch, even if he couldn't do any damage.
52
I'm so hardcore I comment on a match before it gets posted here!

Ninjutsu is so strong, damn. Not much to say beyond that, except that archer had a really high chance at Don't Act, perhaps good compat? Fairly straightforward fight.

"When it rains.." Quint thought, cursing audibly. His greed overrode his caution, and now he'd pay for it. Not many options, and he really didn't want to test that threat of a mage, lacking a long range technique. At least now he had a small priority list, with the leader letting slip there was a glass jaw in the group. A quick plan was formulated, but how to execute it would depend on the enemy's makeup. Not even for a second did Quint consider that the guys were just going to let him go, with the possibility he put down one of their kin.

A tight spot, and punching his way out didn't seem like it'd work at this moment, so with an exasperated sigh, Quint yelled up. "Alright, I'm coming out!" Taking steady heavy steps Quint would backtrack his steps and before long was a few paces from the leader, palms up at chest level.

He'd try to keep the mood light, "What, did I find someone's stash? I know Malborophiles are looked down on, but I don't judge people.."

Since the beginning matches, Angelus' squad has improved a lot, most noticeable in the chemist, who's climhazzard procs turn out to be a true hazard for anyone <~55%. Even with the THREE STOPS in the first round, FFMaster's team didn't have the raw damage to put anyone away.

And here we go. SHOUTOUTS TO CELEBRITY DEATHMATCH! damn, throwback and there are people alive today who have no idea what it was. ..As for the match itself, the first round was pretty free. Didn't help that the lancer did LESS damage when berserked than the priest..
Wait, Wiz' team. Is it based on Y U SO DERP? No BIG DAMAGE, but crippling effects? Huh, would like to see what happens in the next round though, since Tactic's team wasn't amazing, with the lancer (who is the damage dealer?) barely does 100, even with berserk. Against Celdia's ninjas, a berserk might be the worst thing ever. But add the darkness on top..

Dat's some bad luck, two 80% strikes missing? The sleep reversal on the first map pretty much ended the map, but the two missing Raises sealed it. Shadow has a lot of status effects as well, it's nice. Petrify, Don't Act, Sleep and who can forget, DEAD.
55
Bio2's pretty awesome, good speed and damage plus the chance at Frog. Paladins did what they were supposed to, staying alive and assisting with items and the occasional ~110 damage. Good stuff mucus, that team is solid.

First map, Summon Magic + Holy raped. With no where to go, Otabo fell early. Dacheat's team is really synched well, with the summon, time spell and Holy all landing at the same time.
56
Dat Geomancer. So much damage with draw out, and healing through dark absorbed Kotetsu.

Wow, a small wall in the paladins and low Fr/Fa Chemists with AutoPotion keeps them around, Sleep and Death Sentence are the real killers. But holy shit that Kage, 700 damage?!? Most I've seen though this so far, and hell anything will have a hard time beating it..
57
HP, damn. Did anyone on that squad have more than 350? Couple that with units that couldn't do a ton of damage (save the ninja who only did so thanks to Climhazzard) and..

Mimes are cool. Coupled with moves that buff in Quickening and Masa/Mura gives the Mime a ton of survival. Second map, Bad Luck turned good, and two clutch charms sealed it. Nameless Dance turned out to be clutch on the third map, slowing down the Samurai and Mime so that the priest could put them down with Holy.

Damn that was free. Even with the two Sleeps the team neither has AOE or big big damage. Most of it is guaranteed, but I got unlucky certainly in the first round with a 88% hit missing a critical ninja.. Those ninjas are so goddamn scary. Once they go down it can be cake, but it's like trying to eat through glass to get to said cake..
58
Like others have said, it wasn't stupid, but it was pretty random. Maybe if it was just the worm part it would have been a funny introduction, but it goes on for so long, thought I was being trolled..

When the only people who can revive die, you most times lose. Not much else to say other than that status effect Ninjutsu takes forever to finish.

Good damage on all of BQB's units, and plenty of HP with Transfuse and Nurse to keep the party flowing. The archer for Haver did his job, but everyone else couldn't stand up to that damage, 500HP double team jump? Kay. Haste would have been really good for Haver, since his team was mostly physical.

Those thieves are cool, able to inflict status, sandbag, get a lot of speed and are innocent with cherche, so taking them down is difficult. Only reason it took so long was because of charm.

Wow, frisky's team has gotten a lot of bite since the beginning. Everyone in the party does great damage and are decently fast, thanks to Haste. But I don't know whether to say that frisky was beasting, or that Kagebunji had a weird team..

As always, good stuff.
So nervous, the match after next is mine. Celdia's ninjas are scary..
59
I didn't really get it, why did the white mages BOTH have Iron Boots. Not being able to move wasn't terrible, but when your only method of revival past 10HP can't get to you..
60
This is the cutest, yet saddest thing I have ever read. She tries so goddamn hard..
