Okay, time for me to butt in.

I didn't test it yet, but PPSSPP 1.0 does use Coldbird's server to allow for multiplayer. I saw on PPSSPP.org about it, including instructions to make the multiplayer work, without Hamachi and the such.

Thanks for all the recent submissions guys, I always love reading these. I'll have more comments after I wakeup again.

@TheDamned, when I saw the street sharks post, I thought for sure it was going to be an Earthbound reference lol

I think he thought on Jackass when he made this one.

@Damned
The Fusion Sword is a blade Cloud started using after Final Fantasy VII, after he left the Buster Sword as a gravestone for Zack. http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Fusion_Swords
It is composed of six blades mounted into a single sword, and Cloud performs an enhanced version of his Omnislash with it.

Also, you should play Persona 3 and Persona 4 anytime. They're fantastic games and you would get a hell lot of ideas from them.

Hey, Damned, for your idea on Cloud's Persona fight, why not give him the Fusion Sword? If it is possible, of course.

Also, I was researching and had an idea of my own.

Made Of Flames

Story:
"Strange rumors have been appearing about a serpent-like dragon seemingly composed of fire and magma, who's been dominating the Bervennia Volcano over the last weeks. Although there was never any legend of any ancient creature sleeping at the volcano, people who managed to see it from afar says that it emerged and started defending the place as it was its own home. This also involves the trade route going directly through the volcano, which makes trading between the regions of Fovoham and Lesalia a lot harder."

Difficulty:
Hard - Very Hard

Location:
Bervennia Volcano

Enemies:
Volvagia x1: I don't know if there's any serpentine dragon custom sprite around, but it would be cool to have a fiery of its kind, you know, something that could look like the boss from Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Is it isn't possible, a Red Dragon sprite edited to look more "fiery" than normal will do.
Absorbs Fire, Immune to Earth and Lightning, Strong against Wind, Light and Dark, Normal damage from Water, Weak against Ice. It's a boss to keep you in your toes and to keep yourself geared.
It will move almost always into Lava spaces, and will have a stronger version of the Lava Ball Geomancy ability. Also, he could have a Fire Breath attack with four-tile range. I mean it to be a dangerous boss if you're not adequately geared.

Red Dragon x3
Explosive x3

Reward:
A Flame Shield, or some Fire-elemental weapon, and circa 30.000 Gil.

I'm also another person itching to play what will be the first half of Elric's game, somehow XD
27
Heh. I'll still wait until Chapter 2 so I can play the full package (Ch1 Update + Ch2) at once.

If you looked at my other threads, you'd see that I've been trying to do that for like a year now O_o
No idea how you missed that...

As soon as Kyozo said I took notice of your mentions of it on other threads. Sorry for that.

I know, I know. Elric talks about his situation with the mod at the chat when the topic's brought up.

Oh, also, nice to meet you, Kyozo. I know you from the ID forums.

Elric, wouldn't it be better for you to find another spriter? Y'know, while the other one's MIA.

I wish I lived in your country, Elric. Just so I could order a mod on my X360 from you.

FFT: Parted Ways / Re: Parted Ways 2.0 Ability Details

Heh, the job list is pretty much different, feeling as if you will need to have one of each to be able to multitask various things.

That said, I love the way you intend to put Dia and Aero into the game, it has a nice feel to it.

Okay, time to give my opinion on the OP.

1. I agree on 95% of the cases. First because some few names thankfully didn't receive heavy changes (Milleuda and Tietra have their excuses). However, not everything are roses, so... Note: The only name I think it REALLY was worth changing: Goffard Gaffgarion. Because Gaff Gafgarion was lame.

2. Final Fantasy Tactics was what started the Ivalice Alliance, for starters. And I don't see Final Fantasy XII as one of the most hated numbered games, it's actually a 50-50 opinion. Your title actually goes to FFXIII. Note: I don't hate FFT Advance nor FFT A2. I actually like both of these.

3. Better they added Luso over Mache. However, it's a shame that he's nothing but a Ramza clone with innate Poach in this game. He deserved a bit better.

4. Just a hint: this fight happens in Limberry. Elmdore surely remembered his rescue way back in Chapter 1. So, to me, the battle makes a bit of sense.

5. I think those cutscenes are a big differential from the PSX version. And I don't think the voice acting's bad. It's actually pretty good.

6. I must agree that the PSX version's audio is better. But the PSP one's not really bad, either.

7. There's a patch to fix this, ya know. And I'm working on a patch to fix Elmdore's problem (Not stealing Genji Gear? That's SUBTRACTED content).

8. I don't see a problem with Beowulf's sidequest. I actually liked that they had closed that gap in the original game's plot.

9. Even in Final Fantasy XII's world, Auracites are quite the rare thing. You talk about something you don't know.

What I REALLY don't like in this game? Let me see.

1- Name changes. The game didn't need these, save for Gaffgarion's case.

2- Elmdor's Genji Gear being unstealable. Feels like Square subtracted contents from the original version. I'm working on a patch to end this.

3- Luso's class. It killed what made Ramza unique, and even killed what made Ramza worthy, as he even has innate Poach ability as an advantage against Ramza's class. Gosh, he even has access to some of Ramza's skills EVEN BEFORE RAMZA GETS ACCESS TO THESE. Couldn't they have made him a Blue Mage instead? The game needed one.

4- Lack of soft reset. Why in the hell did Square subtract the franchise's most useful function, when numbered Final Fantasies released AT THE SAME TIME, FOR THE SAME CONSOLE, did have the function? It is even worth mentioning that the original game DID HAVE THE FUNCTION. That's beyond dumb.

Well, that's my opinion on the game. But I do hold love for the original and the enhanced port at the same level: pretty high.

PSX FFT Hacking / Re: ASM Hack Proposals
September 14, 2014, 01:55:09 am
I was just wondering why can't the Mimic imitate abilities from unique classes, like Agrias and Mustadio.

As for the Trasure/Jewel Hunter, I have some opinions:
1. I know ASM on the PSP is still an uncharted territory, but if it is done someday, it would be a good idea to rename the abilities Treasure/Jewel Extractor for the PSP version, as Move - Find Item was renamed to Treasure Hunter.
2. I can imagine a way which this ability would work. It would turn a target immediately into a chest/crystal without having to get past the countdown. Thing is, for the ability to work, a killing blow would be demanded. This is good when you want to farm crystals in order to learn abilities, or when you just want to loot things from your enemies. This could even be combined with Xif's Smart Treasure idea in order to increase its usefulness.

Just joined the Steam community and got my Steam ID visible here. (Somehow, I need a Java plugin to get into the IRC chat.)

I'm Zero Dozer. I doubt people on these areas know me, and I'm more of a lurker than I'm a poster in most cases. Also, I'm not a programmer/hacker myself yet, though I have interest on the scene and, of course, on the mods.

So, pleased to meet you guys. Let's see how things roll around here.
