Well, I had another go and slapped a beard on Teioh and did a recolor, but  I don't think Balthier's collar will go with the thief jacket too well..

Yeah, after my post I tried to create a sprite with Balthier's collar and the Thief's jacket--it was a no go. Your sprite, however, looks pretty damn good. If you can make his beard and hair black, I think he'll be ready (then you guys get the fun task of a hat). Maybe you should take those things off his sleeves though...

EDIT: Shouldn't his hair and beard be a dark brown? It looks brown in the portrait.

Yeah, it's actually dark brown. The sprite's hair looks a little lighter though. The reason I suggested to use black was since it's already on the sprite on the gloves and boots and I think that's what they did with Olan. Your call though.

I tried making it black like you suggested, but the black shares a shade with the jacket, so they end up blobbing together, I'll look around and see if I can find some darker brown shades on another sprite though.

Try using Olan's jacket flaps, they will likely be easier to insert. Or the Bard as a last resort. I say give him just completely new arms. Well I suppose I'm not a fan of Teioh as a base as a whole.

Hmmm, that's a good point, AB. I like the shade you're using for the jacket a lot, but if it clashes with a dark beard, then that's not gonna work out too nicely...

Cheetah made some good points too; maybe a couple other spriters will tell you their ideas as well and we can get something a little more unique.

Do we have a finished or worked on 20 year old boy anywhere? I feel like you could put a hat and beard on him and call it good, even has the popped collar.

I don't know if anyone's worked on the 20 year old man, but MiKeMitchi's Male gambler sprite uses it as a base, and is finished as far as I know.

Actually,Im working on the 20yo man,but the gambler is basically the 20yo man with more details,it will serve since I dont have much of the original complete

The thing about the 20 year old man is that he's kinda lackluster. While Bikke shouldn't exactly be flashy, he should have the cliche pirate look: long coat, big boots, etc. With some slight customization, AB's version would work. Then again, this is all just my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt.

I agree with the arms. And darker shades for his hair and beard would be better.

Needs proper colors(I just messed around with colors,so its probaly above 16 colors),a few touch ups on the hat and beard(that I cant do)

The colors look pretty nice, I think the hat needs a bit of work, but the overall shape seems good,with a thicker beard, this would look spiffy.

EDIT: Hmm... Graphics gale says it currently has 21 colors, shouldn't be too hard to reduce.

I hate the hat.  The sleeves and pants look like they could use some better shading to me.  I like the concept.
