It is really a simplicity, but a very long time to do it, it's not difficult.
Of course the new scenes don't really seem possible unless.... Zodiac has expanded the Iso and I Know the game reads extra scenarios, it would be a matter of assigning an event script to 92 and up, this info. is probably located in the Attack.out portion, we just need to find it...

I take it no one is doing it though. How long would it take for me to do it alone from scratch, what would I need to learn (direct me to a post?). I probably wont do it though, I'm too lazy and am expecting to be bogged down by other work soon.

Integrating the retranslated text would be the most time-consuming, because you can't just dump the PSP's text in - the text windows are too wide to fit cleanly much of the time. You'd have to go through all of the dialogue and rearrange the line breaks, and all that sort of fun stuff.

From there, you would decide whether or not to add dark knights, Balthier, et al to the game, and if so, who to remove from the roster in order to get them to fit. Or do some ninja ASM hacking to add additional character slots, either way. Adding the new items would at least be quick and easy.

You'd only have to remove people from the roster if you wanted all unique characters right? How quick and painless is adding items to the psx version cause I'd like to do that.

Not quick, and for from painless, to add items in. Adding in new text is one of the easiest, but the most time consuming in my opinion.

I'd consider doing this in the future.

I'm surprised someone hasn't started this already, at least partly.  There are those who are upset with the lag in the PSP game (I don't own a PSP, so I can't comment on that), and I figured someone would want to remedy that somehow.

I'm not sure how you can add space for characters, but I bet that's possible, especially since there was apparently an ISO extender that was released.  The hacking of the units would be difficult, but I've seen sprite edits, so the only issue would be adding new skills.  The addition of the cutscenes surprised me, though, I did not think that was originally possible, but since that happened, I figured more can be done.

Does anyone think this is possible at some point in the future?

Too bad this doesn't appear to be feasible right now, would've been great.

WE can already. everything in the PSP is doable in the PSX, save for the FMVs and the new darkknight/onion knights. text, script, events. all of it. even items(though itd take ALOT more work than ASMer is willing to put into it)

Didn't that one group ALREADY do it, but in Italian?  That's sort of proof of concept right there, at least.
