<JoZ> I'm not Wiz. Even if I were, I wouldn't be narcissistic enough to go under an alt and comment on my own team.

Neutral Milk Hotel - Holland 1945.  Though, really, the entire album with this song (In an Aeroplane Over the Sea) is simply fabulous.  The singer is a bit... discordant and melodic at the same time.  But on the second listen-through its strangely hyponotic and alluring.  Like, I've never gone from "omg what is this racket" to "mooooooar" more than I have with this band.  In fact, the album's a bit of a novelty in that it's all done in lo-fi on purpose.

And then Royksopp.  I still think their Melody AM album is their best work, but I've been giving their recent album Junior a spin.  It's pretty good... I could listen to Vision One on repeat for an entire day O.o

Just another rebel plotting rebellion.

Streetlight Manifesto's new pet project:  99 Songs of Revolution

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/99_songs_of_revolution

They cover a lot of songs that inspired them... it's a pretty good music expansion experience if you're into that sort of thing.  As above vol 1 features a good spread of bad religion, paul simon, and postal service to name a few.

Just another rebel plotting rebellion.

Great spanish folk metal band.

Mmmmm Mago de Oz, I think is really soft to be Metal. Especially the cover "Hijo de la Luna" is just shit.

This band is from the town I'm currently living in. I'm actually going to attend this thing they're hosting downtown on Saturday morning for a special early release of their first album for local fans.

I'm currently too lazy to upload links to particular songs, but I will give you all a small view of my eclectic music tastes. I enjoy everything from metal/rock/underground rap/electronica/experimental/ so on and so forth.

My favorite song is by the band Ratatat, it is called 'Nostrand', I will link this song, despite me just typing that I wasn't. It is a song about birth, life, and death.

Other songs by these guys I would recommend would be: Seventeen Years, Loud Pipes, Kennedy, Drugs, Bob Ghandi, Wildcat

Someone mentioned Infected Mushroom earlier, I seen them a few months ago and came myself when they played Heavy Weight. Shakakaw is another favorite.

Blackalicious has smooth beats and original lyrics, it is rap how it should have been and not some mainstream thoughtless "music" like you hear spammed on the radio. Check out their songs Make You Feel That Way (Actually, that whole album is flawless, Blazing Arrow is the album name), The Craft, Making Progress, Side to Side.

On the note of underground, Deltron 3030 (you Gorillaz fans should be familiar with this guy, aka Del The Funky Homosapien) is almost as good. Listen to ' Virus' or 'Master Mind' for starters

I'm feeling really tired right about now, so let me cut to the chase

Castlevania SotN soundtrack
Daft Punk - Discovery & Human After All albums
Dayroom - Cheap Wine
Electric 6 - Synthesizer, Infected Girls, I Buy The Drugs, Improper Dancing
The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots (whole album)
Gorillaz - With the exception of all but three songs on their D-Sides album... everything!
Jet Set Radio (Future) - a good mix of a bit of everything
Jurassic 5
Marilyn Manson - Disposable Teens, The Dope Show, Redeemer
Matchbox 20 - Anything from 'yourself or someone like you'
Modest Mouse - Dashboard, Florida, Fire it Up
Muse - Take a Bow, Map of the Problematique, Supermassive Black Hole
The Pillows - FLCL soundtrack
Pixies - Debaser, Here Comes Your Man, No. 13 Baby
Sublime - Sublime album, Date Rape, 2 joints, Let's Get Stoned, 40 oz to Freedom, Badfish, Krs-One, Right Back (I'm seeing these guys this friday, I'm really stoked, even though it isn't even Bradley Nowell)
Tool - Lateralus (The Holy Gift order, completely changes the whole experience), H, Aenema, 46 and 2, Stinkfist, The Pot, Wings for Marie (pt1)
Ween - The Argus

goodnight guys, more to come later
Q: What is the difference between a picture of Jesus, and the actual Jesus?

A: It takes only one nail to hang the picture.

Right in Two and Pushit are really good songs too, specially Pushit in the Salival Album.

I'm not going to lie to you, I've only listened to Lateralus, 10,000 days, Aenema, and a bit of Undertow.

In my opinion, there really isn't a bad Tool song (Though I can go without a few select portions of albums.

I just got my Sublime tickets an hour ago, I really can't wait to see them. I'm picking up some stuff which won the Cannabis Cup two years ago. Great times.

Pretty simple song, musically.  But a decent loveish ballad.

Also I'm a sucker for the following lines:

And I'd stand there
Like a soldier
With my foot upon his chest.
With my grin spread
And my arms out
In my bloodstained Sunday's best
Just another rebel plotting rebellion.

Friend just showed me this song last night, good stuff.

  • Modding version: Other/Unknown
As the puppeteer pulls His strings,
The fragile doll spreads Her wings.
To dance a ballet as He directs
That is the Curse of the Marionette.

Controlled by a hand far, far above,
Forbidden to care, forbidden to love.
Forever shall She mime what She cannot know,
Until the day She loses her illusory glow.

Propped up on a stilt where wine once stood,
The Marionette is, once more, only wood.
Her glossy eyes have lost their shine,
Her silken hair, turned to twine.

What a fate awaits the poor little doll,
Who dances and runs but cannot stand at all.
And the puppeteer is applauded at the end of every show,
But the audience's joyous response the doll can never know.

I am but a doll on an endless stage,
Dancing for others whilst I slowly age.
My puppeteer sits far above,
Hiding His face behind a white glove.

And when I have aged to nothing but wood,
I will be tucked away in a closet where a doll once stood.
Then, as I gather dust and the world passes by,
I will be forgotten by the vast, blue sky.
